Kids today will never know the joy of anticipation picking out the ticket to the video game you wanted at toys r us, having your parents pay for it, then taking the ticket to the back and handing it to the clerk who would then go get your game for you.

My mother bought Mega Man X there. I'd always wanted that game, always, so when she suddenly told me she would buy it for me, the best day of my life officially started. She paid for it, we went to the back, handed over to the ticket and waited. I recall being rather happy, at least until the clerk came back and asked the second one to help searching. Five minutes later they told us they didn't have it in stock after all.

In retrospective, I'm surprised I didn't cry.

Oh I consider this a giant win. I hate New Years. It's one of the worst nights to go out. New Years day is one of the best drinking days of the year because the amateurs take themselves off the playing field.

During the past year we've been debating on buying a new bed or holding out until we buy a house. Since that is still about 18 months out and I started noticing I actually sleep well on every bed that's not ours , decided to look into it.

Started the new year by buying a new bed and mattress set. Our first one was bought in a rush when I moved down in 2009 was a queen and has been killing my back for months. Can't fucking wait to have actual space and sleep well at home.

I did NYE in NY once. At a little 24 hour diner in Queens after my restaurant shift. It was awesome.

I was in NYC for NYE and made sure to get out of dodge post 8 o clock. Hate being in mid-town but I didn't do it for me or else I wouldn't have went at all.
