I just found out my quarterly bonus isn't prorated from when I start, so instead of $1,000 roughly I'm getting $3,750 on the 29th.

That'll pay off the last credit card and get me started on school loans early. Very excited.

Eeeeh, it varys from how good it gets. Back in the deployment/we were actually doing shit era we were 3 or 4 section duty, plenty of maintenance (Each plant dealt with 2 reactors after all). Watch rotations on deployment in 2011 were 5 on, 10 off. 2012 was 5 on, 15 off and later we managed to support augment for the Senior In Rate watches.

Right now I got a friend that's in 3 section duty with 1600 work days. I don't miss that shit.

Everytime I read shit like this, I grow another gray hair. Currently 4 section watch bill with either a 3 person watch rotation and/or port and starboard watch rotation when someone gets sent to school or goes on leave. Currently in the shipyard too. Everyone's stressed the fuck out and it probably won't get better until we go back underway sometime the end of this year.

Lol still sounds like living the high life compared to my shipyard experience (takes those numbers subtract one and lol what is school/leave?). You should try breaking your legs... that's what the guys on my boat did. Seriously in like the 2 years we were in drydock which is when it started getting worse I think 6-7 guys broke their legs bad enough they got transferred <.<

I have a great cooperating teacher who is so excited to let me do my thing (when the time comes) and is just so enthusiastic and willing to help and mentor. I'm so excited to get to teaching because I feel like I have a really great support system in place.

Went out to the bars for my buddy's gf's birthday party. had a really good time, kept a nice buzz going all night on only three drinks, and aside from not sleeping well and the usual complaints from my guts, am none the worse for wear.

Even walked a mile or so. Cabs are for chumps with more money and time than winter clothing.
