That was a good song to listen to while I was getting ready this morning.
Got a call from my supervisor and due to scheduling errors I'm off for the next three days! Sweet.
Walked into the Parks and Rec dept yesterday and dropped off a resume. Only position they're hiring for is a seasonal park attendant- But it's a foot in the door into the gov. and the parks dept. in general.
Interview at 12 today. Hoollllllyyyy shit.
Also, Solana Beach City has an old (30 days) listing for Administrative Assistant. Going straight there after my interview and dropping off a resume with them because apparently old school works with the government.
Damn, county I work for everything is online. They did away with paper applications/resumes years ago. Of course the Sheriff's office though is still doing paper paper time sheets, so with the amount of employee's across the entire county, every 2 weeks I think it's like 2-3 reams of paper used just for time sheets.
I have to submit all my payments, materials, hours, etc etc for my contracts to the City of New York on paper. They refuse to review electronic copies of anything.
And at that point the technology we'll be using won't even require scans/electronic forms because everything will be instantly sent to our brains.
But NYC will still be using i5 PCs and IE8 (IE8 is currently the only browser they can use to get to their mail apparently).
Ah government. Why use tomorrows technology today when you can use yesterdays technology tomorrow... at tomorrow's technologies prices of course
I feel like I nailed the interview. Here's to hoping.
I didn't even think of that. Shit. That totally would have landed me the job. ;P
haha :D
Epic.
Was definitely a very windowed room with a conference table and chairs and two interviewers, actually, but hey. I coulda thrown down both of 'em for some voyeuristic fun for a job. Sure.
If that couch could talk...
..it'd probably ask to be euthanized.
