Valentine's Day is on Sunday, but I've already had a student come in and give me a valentine - a full Hershey bar with a cute little handwritten note.

Yeah it's just as common if not moreso than the other way around but due to the double standards people don't expect it and don't question every single thing a female teachers does that might seem inappropriate if it were a male teacher. Male teachers need to walk on eggshells to male sure they aren't deemed pedos for showing any amount of affection to their students. If anything this encourages more female teachers to sexually abuse their students because they know they're more likely to get away with it

I don't know why that's surprising. My understanding is that female teachers outnumber male teachers. It would make sense to me that it happens more.

If it was that sort, I wouldn't be dumb enough to brag about it on a public forum.

I had my first observation from my university supervisor today. She said that I look very confident and comfortable, that I have a good rapport with the students, that I've got eyes and ears everywhere in the classroom (which is apparently something she rarely sees from interns) and that I'm a natural teacher. I have two more evaluations before I'm going to be clear to graduate, but I'm very pleased that I've taken to it so easily.

Saw Deadpool in a no-one-under-21 luxury place (Cinepolis) and it was fantastic. Reclining leather chairs, food/drink service, respectable people - I'm pretty sure I got as close to heaven as possible.
