26 years*
same difference
No, 26 is higher than 20.
Do you watch the show at all? I DO
I would recommend whatever you decide, try to make it a few times before going in. I would even recommend having friends come over and watch you and talk to you while you cook it. Obviously they edit it a lot but the judges will ask you questions while you cook so you wanna make sure you can do it half distracted.
Definitely play up your medical story they eat that shit up. They also like stuff that is pretty technical challenging.
nigga, if i turn on the tv and you warming up franks and beans, im gonna snatch your working lung
Yeah, on the phone interview I played up my transplant a bit. I've gone over my favorite dishes to make and none seem like they would impress people. I make great food but due to my health issues I tend to keep it basic. I need to break out of my shell and try something amazing. Also, I'm not going to be one of those idiots that makes something for the first time and question why the judges don't like it. That always annoyed me when watching food network challenge shows. And I haven't watched the show since season 1, really I only applied out of curiosity thanks to the MasterChef thread in BGtainment. I watch the shit out of other food network shows. Cutthroat Kitchen being my favorite.
Was staying at an Embassy Suites hotel in SoCal and had a craving for a late night snack. Since everything closes super early in the area we were staying decided to pay the high prices in the lobby store. Manager on duty saw me wearing my Frozen Elsa shirt and loved it.
I went to pay for my stuff and she just told me "Have a nice night". Being a Disney nerd pays the fuck off.
I'd pay to watch that, no lies.
That might happen. Also, my biggest hope, should I get on the show would be that if I get eliminated I'd stare at the camera, straight and serious face and say "I made it this far, how far did YOU make it" and then just get up and walk out. That would be awesome.
guy i work for made E-8, only been in 13 years. holy fuck balls
If you get screen time, I'll give the production a watch.
But yeah, you should watch the first and only season of MC Canada and take notes of the judges. Don't necessarily try and play to their likes, it's risky, but definitely work on areas they're critical of.
Googling them though, it's probably best that you aren't a crazy chef, two of them seem to make their bank on the edge (especially Leung), and the third is standard but wide as hell, unless you're a prodigy you likely won't impress them by playing on their home court.
I don't know how exotic MC Canada can get in it's challenges, but you really need to be ready to handle any ingredient or cuisine style that might come your way. (And there will be things you aren't expecting in season two, gotta keep stuff fresh for viewers.) If you don't know something, you're going to need to adapt fast using just fundamental knowledge of flavors and guessed cooking properties of things.
Also, Ksan, y u no MasterChef thread.
Just got done with interviewing for director position at college, huge jump up the ladder. Pretty sure I nailed almost all questions, and I knew 5 of the 7 people on the hiring board pretty well lol.
Just got a 100 on my final for Information System Project Management for my master's degree. I get my final grades in like 10 days, I have 1 class remaining for my degree after that, and I'm currently carrying a 4.0.
When I started my Master's, I didn't really care about the 4.0, but now that I'm so close I fucking want that shit. I've worked my ass off.
After 9 hours of interrogating an individual for the sexual assault of a child, he finally broke down crying like a bitch and confessed. Now to go home and get blasted shitface!
