Found out after a small degree of worry that the GF's not pregnant. Two negative home tests 2 weeks apart. Not gonna be a daddy.

Win - Scored a 20th anni Pokemon New 3DS. Now I get to relive my childhood. It would be nice if they redid fire red and leaf green.
Fail - The New DSs don't come with AC adapters anymore and I can't find non-xl screen protectors...
Finally made it above the cut for advancement. 7 years a 3rd (fuck advancement for the ET rate these last few years) no longer.
Not sure if this is win for fail. My work from home job has been a bunch of "you'll do this" and turned into "Naw it's actually this" along with garbage so called team leadership. I accepted an interview for an insurance gig even though I swore off that industry. It's $4/hr more than what I'm currently making but I'd go back to working in a call center and losing the perks of working at home. Not sure what to do.![]()
Call centers aren't all created equal so it would depend for me. Technically I work in a call center environment for a car dealership but it's actually at the dealership itself taking inbound service calls for appointments. Now due to carpal tunnel my duties have changed to making outbound calls based on guests that are due for service and alternating with followup on service calls.
We are a small team of about 6 and share an office with Internet sales department and it's the best job I've ever had. No quotas , minimal stress , no face to face contact and my supervisors are both laid back but supportive as long as you do your job and the company benefits are great including Sundays off ( I work M-F 9am to 6pm due to seniority ).
But I've also done back in the 90s directory assistance for AT&T before it was obsolete and cold calling which was not my thing for the shit pay.
Things I would weigh besides the jump in pay :
Commute time
Benefits
Expectations compared to current job
Pros and cons of not working at home
Leadership and support comparison of new vs old
Most of all if it's an industry you loathe will it be worth it ?
Ordered something on JP website, paid w/ credit card, and actually worked !!!
I <3 you tenso
shouldnt you guys be phoning home? get it cuz you are ET. LOL
Well, don't have to worry about it now! My phone interview was awesome which had led up to the in person. The manager scheduled said my insurance experience wasn't recent enough (1 1/2 yr ago was last gig) and he denied the interview. Everything happens for a reason. Time to get that happy face on. A friend says I should just eat a pot brownie once every four hours and I'll have the best shifts of my life!
Well there ya go lol. I do follow the mantra everything happens for a reason too actually. Several years ago I went up for a promotion and was considered the best candidate straight from my store manager yet they promoted someone with more experience on paper. A few months later they laid off 3/4 of our store with management being first. Meanwhile I got hired full time at Marriott instead.
Hopefully an opportunity you want comes around sooner than later. If I had a way to convince my job I could work from home I admit I'd do it too though.
It is pretty darn nice when I go on break to walk a few steps to the kitchen, open my fridge, and eat or drink exactly what I want. Also, probably the biggest bonus is listening to what music I want without having anyone complain.
Coast Guard has been bad for the last few years. Generally single digit numbers of ET2s each cycle. Then randomly the May 2015 servicewide they're making 74.
Crazy retention of members following the economy shitting the bed led to advancement mostly freezing up in the rate.
That's why you become an operator son
Yeah but ESD life like I have atm is the shit. Off at 1530 everyday and cell phone duty once every 9 weeks.
