So turns out Guy's grocery games are filmed here in town and we now do work right outside the set. So yay for getting to see Guy in person and sneak a quick look at an episode being filmed

Gross. Not a fan of that guy.
He came to a BBQ trailer thing a couple blocks from my office here for his show. Gave it rave reviews and all that stuff. It's called Mo' Gridders. My office calls it Mo' Shitters because of what the food does to you most of the time.
Not exactly Guy Fieri, but I remember my dad getting trolled bad when he worked at the Coroner's office when WB was filming the Matrix sequels. They were filming near the office, and WB had it's catering trucks outside the building. They were nice and let the Sheriff's Office staff get a free meal for their help keeping the public away. One of my dad's deputies decided to be cute, found some WB Letterhead online, and wrote a letter for a bill for the catering and put it in my dad's mailbox. He spent the next 3 hours trying to figure out how he was going to explain this to the sheriff (one of the five cardinal sins was you don't accept gratuities) and they left him hanging all day before they revealed that they were just trolling him and there was no bill. I still laugh about it today knowing the pranks he pulled when he was a Sergeant at one of the county jails.
Our supers will get free food from catering sometimes when there is filming nearby. As you can imagine, as a construction company we make a decent amount of noise. Sometimes there will be filming in the area and they'll come over and ask us if we could stop for 10-15 minutes while they shoot something. We normally try to comply and they usually thank us by letting our guys take lunch from the catering truck.
It's a nice gesture, even if it's small. Plus they have so much damn food they probably have to figure out what to do with half of it at the end of the day. I just hope they give it to some shelter or something rather than toss it all.
Not a fan really either. But still neet to see a celeb and a show being filmed. Especially since I didn't get to go when we did a job for Lucas
That reminded me; my wife and I were running around Queens/Brooklyn Easter weekend delivering eggs to friends. Our last stop was in Bushwick where we asked our friends where to get some good cheese. There happened to be a store directly below them; my wifge and I thought it was a coffee shop when we passed outside (because it's front counter was a coffe place).
We walk in and it's awesome. Great cheese, smoked/cured meats, and a butcher in the back. Our friends also said the coffee was good, but we don't drink coffee. We're getting our cheese and Boo from OITNB walks in to get some stuff.
I was trying to figure out if it was her or not when my wife nudges me to stop looking back and nods to confirm it is her.
If you're ever in Bushwick and need some meat, cheese, or coffee check out Foster Sundry. Then go down the block to my cousin's place, BK Jani for some brunch/dinner.
Gray-haired guy from Madmen goes to the same butcher as I do. See him pretty regularly. Do the head raise now instead of the nod. We're almost best friends.
Just saw a write up from NY Times for the above-mentioned restaurant. My cousin is the cook weeknights and for brunch/dinner weekends.
BK Jani - Pakistani restaurant in Bushwick.
Found my old pokemon card collection in storage today. I made a promise 15 years ago that I would one day finish the collection. Time to make due on that promise.... although now there's a fuck ton more. Think I'll only do wizard's of the coast. I'm not that much of a fan of the new Pokemanz.
A promise you made to yourself as a kid/teen to finish a Pokemon card collection is something I am pretty sure you can break without fear of besmirching your personal honor code, dude.
Sell that shit on eBay dude.
complete it, THEN sell it on ebay at a premium.
I've been working on some mental health exercises as traditional meditation doesn't work for me but my therapist suggested tai chi. Best suggestion ever , I found some great YouTube videos and find its really helping me. I've been learning also when I'm getting agitated and upset and reconditioning myself to slow down , focus on my breathing and finding ways to refocus.
It took me two years to seek out help again in matters that should have been attended to years ago but I'm hopeful these small steps will help my physical and mental health going forward.
Just uh, delivered a baby in the parking lot O.o
^ that's good shit right there.
Did they name it Chevy or Mercedes?
I went to a monster truck show last night. It was pretty cool. They did some sweet jumps.
Did you see a lot of drunk chicks with the tramp stamp?
Went to Hardee's (or Carl's Jr. for you west coast folks) to get dinner. Overheard this question from a customer, actual quote: "Do y'all have, like, a light gravy?" The entire kitchen staff started laughing at her.
