Yeah. It's scary. I do have an addictive personality, but thankfully my gambling is curbed by the fact i'm a cheap son of a bitch that doesn't like spending money, especially on myself.

To be fair there are professional gamblers out there who make their living at it. Usually playing blackjack or poker though. Also there are groups out there who network together and track the casinos then send out word when one has made a change to their play rules that tips the odds in favor of the player even if it is just by a few percentage points then the group goes and mobs the casino.

Marketing people have in the past made changes to the math of casino games to make them more attractive to players without checking with their mathematicians and lost the casino millions of dollars in just a day or two.

I took a senior level math class in college devoted to just casino math and our teacher was amazing. You wouldn't believe some of the stories he told us about situations like that.

I'm going to finish my last year of graduate school with a full ride. I was able to land a teaching assistant position finally which offers a tuition waiver and a hefty monthly stipend that will be able to pay for room and board. Beyond happy because fuck these loans. That means I can actually make some money this summer and pay off some accumulated interest from the last 8 months.
