Oh that's possible, either way, it's cheaper and that makes me happy.

Pick up my first official minion tomorrow, not sure if win or fail. He's just out of school and completely untrained in the programs we use. Not sure if I should just break his bad habits or impart mine.
Porque no los dos?
Well, unless IT gets busy real quick, the guy will be coming in to a desk with post-it notes, a tape dispenser, and a mousepad. No phone, no computer, no keyboard, no mouse.
So was looking like I was going to have to ship my computer off to the manufacturer for repair since nothing would come on but they had me check the power supply and ram first not really sure how or why put taking out one of the ram sticks and putting it back in seems to have fixed it. Hurray for only half a day wasted
Edit: of course tech support isn't satisfied and wants me to try out each ram stick in each slot and run the comp for 30 minutes each time... bitch that'd take 5 hours
Watching finance fight with Verizon over bills we paid and they didn't credit properly

Governor Voldemort pushed for this tax break and it took effect on Sept. 1st 2014. Governor Voldemort actually did something to benefit me!

Got a perfect score on our secret shopper, and I was listed as the manager on duty so I get an extra $100 on my next check.
I slept from 8pm to 8:30am uninterrupted and I feel incredible.
Working on a high-orbit space telescope is surprisingly easier than I would've thought. As I sit here playing cell phone games cuz I finished 2 weeks of training in 4 days and just am not telling anyone because lol why would I.
Also pretty sure once I have the full job in hand and have a lot of free time I can rewrite the numerical optimization program we and NASA use for the scheduling to be orders of magnitude better. It's old and nobody likes it but it costs money to buy new software and it just happens to be the sort of stuff that I like to code. Might look into doing it as a PhD project or something so I get something out of it at least.
Can I come up and look out of the telescope?
I promise I'll wash my hands first.
90% win, 10% fail.
So a few weeks ago I asked a female co-worker out. She politely declined saying she was in a relationship but said she'd still like being friends and maybe go out to lunch sometime. A week later I try offering her out to lunch and she gets a little evasive but says she'll think about it.
Should probably mention I'm a cook at a senior living facility and she's a server most days but is my prep cook one day of the week. We work very well together and she has a fantastic personality, sense of humor, smart cute good taste in music etc etc.
Now, yesterday she texts me saying she's been keeping something from me because she wasn't sure how I would react: she has a girlfriend. I have absolutely no problem with that and explain to her that I am seriously 100% fine being friends. She's happy about that and looks like we're on a good start to that.
The 10% fail is that I apparently have a very unconscious gaydar because this is the third one I've fallen for.
I guess the other irl win is that this whole past year has been fantastic for me. I stopped being a shut-in a couple years ago and went to culinary school. Been working at this place for 9 months now. My first job, hired on my first interview despite being a nervous wreck (I assume). All of my co-workers are super friendly and great to work with and because we're relatively small-staffed I'm already being trusted with a lot of responsibility and I'm "one of them" now more or less. Having the time of my life, even though I know the pay isn't that great (not something I need to worry about just yet) and that I'm obviously not gonna work here forever.
Weaned myself off of chugging endless sodas every day and eating super unhealthy also. Now just need to work up the effort to start working out.
how did you lose your telescope in the sun?
Probably forgot to convert from metric to imperial again.
