Having a working stove is pure win. I get wet every time we walk through best Buy and through the appliance department. Some women like diamonds or name brand stuff - I would rather have top of the line washer/dryer and kitchen. I was definitely born in the wrong era..lol. My ideal day would be cooking and baking all day and before anyone says it yes barefoot but fuck no to ever being pregnant.

I am the same about the kitchen! Before hubby got a job in his field he worked for BB. First in cell phones, but then in appliances. Made him really appreciate good stuff and even he wants the nice shit. A million years from now when we can finally get a house I actually want one with a big kitchen but low end appliances. Only because I want the joy of shopping to upgrade them.

I think a lot of people call them a lot of different things.

Kind of like soda/pop, or chips/fries. Depends where you are in the world and such.

I never really had a name for them, personally. I have some in my freezer though and now I want to grab one when I get home from class.

Noticed the last couple of days that my water heater was making a very loud hissing noise. Called my landlord yesterday after office hours to let them know about it and put in a request for a plumber to come out and take a look at it. This morning it was hissing even louder, and also whistling, AND there was also steam coming out of it. Not good. Went over to my landlord's office and stressed that I think this is bad news and they need to send a plumber out ASAP. Plumber came by while I was at work and they have installed an all new water heater. I called to find out what was wrong and why they chose to replace instead of repair. The plumber left a message saying it was basically 2-3 days worth of built up pressure away from EXPLODING. Welp, glad to be alive.

I laughed. Unfortunately, water heaters will not explode unless major modifications have been made to it. You would have had a horrible water mess to clean up because of the water heater failure (more like a crack in a sheet metal seam than an explosion) as well as the continued spraying of water from the pipe infeed. Lucky to not have thousands of $ of your stuff getting ruined by water.

A/C in my '03 Matrix died. Compressor took a giant shit, and living in Houston that would make my drive to/from work like living in some level of hell. Also, had a CEL pop up, and my airbag light came on about 2 weeks ago. Since I had a CEL and airbag light, no way to pass inspection here in TX. Took it to my mechanic this morning to look at and get an estimate. Definitely wasn't gonna be cheap, but was a whole hell of a lot cheaper than a car payment for the next five years. After fixing my A/C and O2 sensor he threw in the inspection and gave me 50% off Royal Purple oil change, and draining and refilling my manual transmission fluid. Also, he passed me on the inspection, even though my front tires were out of spec for safety, and i know sure as shit my wipers were garbage. Think I should get another good 100k miles out of that bitch now.
