I put my two weeks in at work and tomorrow is my last day. I'm pretty happy bout this because fuck corporate.
Also they weren't very flexible with me with understanding that I have a 2-year-old that sometimes gets sick. I'm tired of calling out and feeling bad about taking care of my child.
Congrats on the new job but while I understand kids and adults get sick , you shouldn't feel bad for it , shit happens. I know adults are shamed over it too and it sucks. I used to get horrible anxiety when I got sick often but realized I can't control it so just tried to be honest about it.

It's really situational. Like some people just don't understand not coming in unless you dying... for example only day my dad stayed home with me sick was when I was running a fever of 102. Sometimes it's a definitely needed sometimes thing. Like my boss fairly understanding about my migraines most the time now I'm in the office most the time. But if someone is needed to run the store or go out on a run or something yeah less understanding (though sometimes work just the hours needed to do that stuff). Sometimes people fuck it up for everyone else and you get some guy that will always been looking up shit on WebMD and saying they got whatever and wont come in or takes off everytime they or their kid has a cold or just miraculously always manages to keep their sick days used up and makes the management always suspect above average sick time taken. And then some people are just assholes and love fucking with people under them
I get a lot of anxiety too when calling out. I don't like to do it.
My daughter got sick back in April with a high fever around 103 and this time she got a fever up to 106. I just started back in April so it was not a good impression so they've always been very strict on me about it even though my co-worker calls out because she's tired. In those two months I called out for 2 days each month. To me, thats not asking too much. But it's a grocery store so maybe they expect their workers not to have lives lol. They've tried to blame it on me saying that my daughter has some immune deficiency and that I shouldn't work at all. She's a perfectly healthy little girl that goes to daycare. It happens.
What the actual fuck. Toddlers pick up germs. Holy hell your work sounds like a bunch of fucking morons.
Kids do get sick but that is an unusual amount of high fevers in a short time though 2 months is a rather short sample size so meh. That said hardly see how they can say that's your fault unless they are trying to insinuate some kind of child neglect and then they can gtfo.
As far as them caring so much most places that do shifts and such like that it isn't so much as they don't expect you to have lives so much as they expect you to have lives on your own time and try to mostly schedule things in advance though obviously high fevers come on fast and can't really do that. Because calling in unexpectantly often means someone else needs to be called at the last minute on their day off. Which is always a headache for everyone. Not sure if your place allows it but if you can find a coworker to say they'd go in for you before you call in sick that often helps smooth things over.
For anyone that cares, me and MILF lady hung out, ate wings, drank beers, it was an otherwise good time but FSU getting their asses kicked really put a damper on the day and we parted ways mid afternoon. I would classify it was a somewhat fail but who knows it might lead to something later. My win is that after a night of heavy drinking I get to enjoy the majesty that is a ham & cheddar hot pocket before I fall asleep. Good night, world.
I care.
I too, care.
Now that it's over, post pics?
Also, it must make you extra-salty that not only did louisville stomp the noles, but all but ruined your chances with a MILF as well.
Indeed, 'twas a rough day. I'm glad my tales of near-poon are captivating to you guys but I'll end it here until something actually happens. And no pics for you heathens without permission. Except Abandon. Y'all know he wouldn't lie to you.
she's no 10, but ive done worse while sober
a solid 6.5-7.5, depending on personal tastes
-2 for every +10 years tho don't forget
My license tag renewal is due tomorrow totalling $48.65--today I received a rebate check from Florida Blue on my premiums for the year totalling $49.16--thanks, Obama!
That's like a quarter of what a tag costs in California.
Yeah Florida tags used to be more expensive but it was changed a year or so ago. Used to be around $90 for my truck each year. When I bought my truck I was able to include the cost of tags for three years into the loan, too. Thank you based credit unions.
Wut? $90? Do you have vanity/themed plates? I don't think I have payed more than $60 in the last 20 years.
I'll preface by saying I love you Cass, don't hit me.
If you're averaging two days out per month since starting that would be a HUGE red flag for me. They're looking at it from a management position which is going to average out to 24 call offs in year if the current trend continues. Looking at it from an it's only two per month perspective makes it easy to say "well it's not that much." But when you look at it from the 24 in a year perspective, yeah it's a lot. Our attendance policy allows for 9 call offs per year, the 10th you're out the door.
That being said, don't hit me.
