Target near my house thinks they are slick. Putting Halloween candy on "sale". With most of it being about normal prices or even above normal for them. Spent a little time walking around though and found a bag of stuff like reeses or kitkat and such that ended up being about 12k calories worth for $10 so not bad. Even better when I get to the register it gets run up for $8.99 instead. My blood sugars going to hate me this weekend

Also to go with the Airline talk Alaska airlines are pretty good if you on the west side. One of the few that fly into my town they offer some nice perks like say you bought some wine while you were here they will pack it up securely and transport it no extra cost. Like doesn't even count as another bag or anything. Plus all the flights even the short 2 hour ones come with a free glass of wine or beer usually something local brew for the beer.

As far as domestic carriers, yeah Blue wins. Both have the leg room and the experience, but the unlimited self-serve water, tea, and snacks are a big chunk of why Jet Blue is amazing.

You would fly Virgin if you are going to California or live in it though. SFO → LON is a nice route to have points for.

idk. JB to LAX/SFO is the tits. I fly Mint on the long leg, extra leg room on the way back. I have about a 10% success rate on getting bumped up to Mint on the return leg too. Mosaic is p tits.

Prepare for Virgin to get worse. They just got bought out by Alaska. As we all know mergers will shit up airlines for years.

That Starwoods Marriott merger has ended up great so far despite my initial fears to my Star Points. Now I have status at Marriot without even staying there. Can be a mixed bag with any merger though for the consumer.


How do you have Mosiac (card or flights)? I don't fly Jet Blue enough to get it, and because of that I don't think it is worth it to get it with their credit card. It is nice and all, but I prefer not to head up to JFK every time I want to fly. EWR is my closest, and PHL isn't a bad alternative either compared to JFK. You already live there though so that is different for you.

A serious benefit is the ridiculously cheap upgrades using points for EMS seats. For my usual flights (JFK->MSY,JFK-LAX) it's the equivalent of like 5 bucks to upgrade.


EWR is a no-go for me unless I have literally no other options. It's an extra 80 bucks to get there and the service is fucking garbage even with status.


Regarding the SPG/Marriott merger, I think it's a benefit for all business customers. I'm mildly status'd with Marriott and I don't have the SPG AMEX because we have an alternate accommodation setup from one of our investors.

Nah, I honestly don't eat in the terminal much anymore. I do like the new roof deck situation although it's very poorly placed if you're flying out of the other set of gates. I usually just bring food these days because I'm always cutting it close. I have the Precheck line pretty well timed now that I can show up 15-20 minutes from the gate closing and easily make my flight.

My leg/foot had been getting steadily worse over the last several months and even other leg started acting up... then last week it got suddenly way worse. Like enough that I was actually getting rather concerned as it felt like I was losing circulation in my whole leg pretty much anytime I wasn't running.

This ends up being a win because the sudden nature of increase made it obvious that whatever had been doing it suddenly increased. Looked back last few days and my food diaries from last few months and what do you know the same thing I had ate I ton of the following days was something I'd been trying to eat more of for a few months. And apparently my body hates eating too much greens lol. Then again maybe a lbs of spinach of a day most days probably isn't great.

Cut back starting monday and sudden increase immediately stopped and last few days have been the first in months I could wear a shoe for more than a few minutes without pain so yay. So guess I don't have to go to the hospital and can continue my streak of no doctors.... though I suppose I should eventually go in since had similar issues in same leg not long after accident so maybe it's prone to throwing clots now or something. Whatever yolo I'll just start eating more garlic again

Circulation issues can be really serious and a sign of other issues too. I get that you don't want to look into it but I think it's important enough to bring up. I injured my left leg when I was 19 when I fell through a hole in my boyfriend's deck and did some permanent nerve damage. While it's tolerable to live with Ive been advised at some point it could create permanent disability. It's better to know and find ways to lessen it if possible than to assume.
