well hey at least you'll be able to tell your kid with complete honesty that they were not even remotely an accident, happy or otherwise. that's something.
know what else is something? you might end up with like triplets or some shit. fertilization techniques do that a lot.
Easily the most depressing thing in 39 pages of Random Win....can relate to a lesser extent, could be dead before 40 if I dont take care of myself, with current medicine if I focus on taking care of myself I can have a decent shot at making 60-65 (although no male, healthy or not, on my father's side has ever lived to 60). Always think just fuck it and go nuts, but then its like yeeeeeahhhh... probably gonna find a girl and then wished I hadn't let the clock accelerate during my 20s....
I don't think I could handle triplets. Twins would be awesome though. my dream is to have a boy or girl and at least give it my first name and that's like my gift to them. It's not much but it's all I got. And even though this is horribly depressing it's still a win
All this rain must be your fault then.
WTF dude.
But seriously...the feels man, reading that.
Whenever Myrrh posts about something good going on his life I always walk away with a smile because it just makes my day to know that something good is happening to/for a guy who (most likely) deserves it because he's been through and is going through some shit.
This is coming from somebody who generally hates seeing people show off shit about their life, but with Myrrh it's just like "Man, good for him." It's not pity on my part either, it's just nice to know that while the universe can be a cold-hearted bitch sometimes, she can also be kind of ok every now and then.
plus, if you name your kid Junior, that's what they're called, and you end up as Senior. aint no fun.
i second the middle name idea. I carry my Grandpa's first name as my middle name. If I have kids, I kinda wanna have them do the same for my mom and dad.
But then you'll never get a "the third" and so on.
Forget Sr. and Jr., style yourselves as the first and the second.
My first name is the same as my dads, but we have different middle names keeping me from becoming a Jr. I suggest doing this and will probably do it for one of my kids. It also keeps it simple in the house, my family has always called me by my middle name, that way we don't get confused in the house. Thus, all friends call me by the middle name too. It also opens up the opportunity for abbreviation such as J. Edgar Hoover, J. Robert Oppenheimer, L. Ron Hubbard (lol at the names I chose to use for an example.)
A lot of people that are Jr. end up being called that, that sucks for those people. I know a few jrs that are called junior or J-R. And Jr or not the third one is still the third III.
anyone who is a II is a lie and is just lying to themselves cause they don't wanna be known as juniors.
Although, no one calls my one buddy a Jr because their last name is Cook. They call the dad cookie and the son crumb.
I'm actually a 4th, not a 1st so my kid would be a 5th. Plus my GF wants to pick her own middle name for the kid so we'd probably call them that till I was gone then hopefully in some love for me want to be called Randy after that. Least, that's what i hope for.
Honestly if you want to enjoy the next ten years of your life, having a kid is about the worst thing you can do.
I don't get why he's written himself off already. "At best another ten years" People with CF have lived into their 70's for about 20 years now, and now they're hitting 80's.
It's an average for a reason, CF people die more at VERY young ages than if they actually manage to make it to a double lung transfer and are doing fairly well as Myrr is now. His back pain is not (directly) related to his CF. Seriously, he's probably going to live to be a decently old age, or kill himself early to prove a point.
BUT HEY, I AM HAPPY FOR YOUR HAPPY, just christ. "At best another ten years" tch.
The CF is no longer an issue. You remember that whole double Lung transplant thing? Ya, there is no 20+ years with that. At most I get 15 before my body rejects the longs and that's being very optimistic. I'll most likely get 5 or so more and I'm fine with that but don't try and play it off like I'm living a normal life here.
Also, people with CF are NOT living to their 70s. And it has NOT been like that for 20 years. Just 13 years ago when I was 13 Doctors told me I wouldn't live to see 25. Right now, it's expected for a CF to live to about 48 years not. Not fucking 70. CF is still a massive fucking issue and you saying we live to 70 makes it sound like a mild case of fucking asthma.
>>Today, the average life span for people with CF who live to adulthood is approximately 37 years, a dramatic increase over the last three decades.
OK, I know you didn't finish high school, but I am going to hope you understand what an average is.
