My buddy's wife (whose wedding I met my GF at) had a birthday yesterday. We went on a triple date with another buddy and his gf, out to a local orchard/farm. had a blast... and the best goddamn apples ive ever tasted. so fucking good. honeycrisp and b-51 are the two most common that are still on the trees, and holy shit are they fucking amazing fresh. was hard to find decent quality cos the bugs got to a lot of them and others were overripe, but the orchard was big enough each couple found enough to bake with... I foresee many delicious apple pies and crisps in my future. on the downside, I think I might be mildly allergic to apples, or more likely the pollen. even just eating one now set off my allergies a bit. not enough to stop me, but enough to be uncomfortable.


afterwards we went out for dinner, then had a fire. I tried a Moscow mule, which was interesting. probably not something i'd order again, but decent enough.
