Vacation approved from Jan 3rd - Jan 6th. Due to labor/union contracts with our service department we get Jan 2nd paid off since NYD falls on Sunday when we are closed.

So from Sat. Dec.31st -January 8th I'm off work with 5 of those days paid.

Piggy backing off my work random fail. Had a conference call with my VP and the IT director of our parent Club in California today. Afterwards VP asks me how much this integration project is going to impact my performance in my actual job with the Ohio garages. I tell him it's going to have a great impact. He then asks if I'm still interested in the dispatch director position that is rumored to go active in April. I reply with yes of course. He then says he is going to fast track it to January 1st so I can focus on this project and not worry about dealing with garages anymore. It's at least a 2 pay scale increase and opens the door to a future VP position.

Got half of my garages pulled off me in order to cope with the additional work load from this fucking project. Which is no joke and I'm legit worried I won't be able to pull this off. Also have found out that pretty much every single VP and EVP hate each other. So it's like tap dancing through a minefield. NONE of them want to make a decision so in the week I've been running this I've gotten two conversion quotes and approved both along with several other large issues that needed worked through. I don't know how these fuckers got as far as they have with nobody agreeing or stepping up and making the calls.

So my biking speed coming home has been steadily dropping while leaving has stayed more or less the same... today I discovered if I don't sit down for the last 30 minutes or so before a ride I can get back a good 1-3 MPH

It's ok. Food isn't anything great. View is pretty decent. Unless you're a jazz person, go to Bar Boulud or Jean George.

Next tier: Sushi Nakazawa, Sushi Yasuda, Sushi Zo.

Masa is fuck you expensive but it's the best. Expect to spend a grand.

My personal favorite is Yasuda, it's way traditional and the fish is exceptional.

Zo has the best chef (If he's there, they have a location in LA so he's not always around)

Nakazawa is boss as fuck but the least "traditional". The chef is one of the guys from Jiro Dreams of Sushi.

You probably can't get a res at Nakazawa. Zo is kinda tough as is Yasuda.

Minetta Tavern for fancy burger, Peter Luger's for normal burger (ONLY AT LUNCH)

Second place for normal burger would be Corner Bistro in the west village.

Holy shit. I just looked at their site since Astylla has been broadening my palette and gotten me into sushi. $595 a person + drinks, with a $200 a person reservation hold. That is a bucket list kind of dining for me.

Honestly, I would never have gone if it wasn't being paid for by someone else. It's very overpriced.

The next tier of places are 99.9% as good and 1/2 to 1/3rd the price or less for dinner. You can do lunch at Yasuda for like 30 bucks.

Good to know. Think the most I paid for a meal was my birthday dinner at Gordon Ramsey Steak at the Paris Hotel in Vegas. After drinks/tip for the two of us, that was about 4-500. But that was also me getting soup, Astylla getting a salad, and both of us getting the Wagyu fillets with lobster tail.
