Today I earned my first paycheque as a professional actor. Moved to LA to go to school 8 years ago, moved to Vancouver 6 years ago when I graduated, dealt with a lot of life shit for about 4 years, finally started pursuing acting as a career just under 2 years ago, signed with my agent a year and a half ago, booked and filmed a commercial in October, got paid today.

The nice thing is I already have my next project lined up to film in a week. So the next paycheque won't take nearly as long lol.

In all honesty, for disneyworld you give up a lot staying offsite. If you want to take the kids, watch for one of the free dining promotions. We were going to do it last year but things fell through but a value resort for 9 nights and 8 days of tickets with a upgraded plan to include table service meals was going to be like 2700 plus airfare, maybe cheaper.

With disneyworld you really need that sixty days out to book fast passes/meals. We got lucky to do what we did on our short trip a couple years ago.

Reiterating: Timeshares are a fucking ripoff and you shouldn't buy into one.

Pretty sure I am going to get a job offer soon at someplace I worked as a temp for, crushed it, got great manager reviews. Had an interview with them for an IT support position for their clients before Christmas. They just sent me a background check authorization form today. A background check has never prevented me from getting a job so I think I got it in the bag.

Company's generally won't do a background check unless they're intending on hiring that person, right? My thought is, why would you spend the money doing that unless you're sure you want to hire that person.

When I grew up I went to Disneyland every year and stayed at a timeshare. I had a blast despite being offsite. To be fair, the timeshare we went to was directly at the entrance to Disney Drive. But you do bring up the point that I've been debating with. I looked at both the DVC and Windham point systems and for sure you are stay at much nicer places. But the price to buy is insane. I can buy a resale at our family's location for like $1k, so the issue really comes down to the maint fees and what works best.

Our plan is to do two weeks at the end of July in '18 and then two weeks at the beginning of June in '19. We are gonna get the annual passes there hence the timing. Two weeks of maint fee is about $1600-$1900 and that doesn't include the cost of the timeshare when purchasing.

Honestly Windham has a really nice system/deal where we would get two weeks for about $1000 a year, but that doesn't include the $23k to buy.

Depends on what you expect out of it. It's definitely not for everyone.

Yeah I would highly look into what onsite offers they have. Remember also staying offsite you are paying to park every day which is 18 a day. Look at what the cost would be vs a suite at Disney animation during a promo
