So mentally ill people may fear god despite not believing in god.
I think the problem there lies in the mental illness (which includes depression), over anything else.
I honestly re-read this response several times, and couldn't even fathom how to take it.
Are you saying that no one should be concerned about the potential consequences of their actions? Namely, that people without mental ailments shouldn't worry about exposing impressionable minds to rhetoric because it's not their problem?
Just found out Nick Cannon's Wild n Out is back!!!!!!!!!!!
how the fuck is that a win

Got my bank information for my new car. They gave me a better percent than projected when I bought it so it'll save me about $700 in the long run (if I only make the minimum payments).
On top of that, my insurance quote was $30 less (for 6 months) than what I was paying on my old car.
This car is getting better and better.
I also named her Sheila.
All i got from your initial reply was that mentally ill people may have flashbacks about previous religious events and their reprucussions.
All i said to that was dissecting the mind of a mentally ill person is open to endless possibilities, and making a counterargument based on how it make affect mentally ill people is messed up because mentally ill people will react to anything in the most fucked up, improbable ways, and is not the norm.
No offense, Kohan, but I am on the side that you maybe over thinking baptism. Daughter and son got baptized last weekend. Event lasted all of 30 minutes with 7 kids getting baptized. Priest puts some oil on their chest, puts water on their head with a blessing, puts oil on their head with a blessing (which apparently survives a few baths rofl), and has the god parents light a candle and pray for them.
Now, do not get me wrong, I can see your argument in the idea of raising the kids that "my religion is the only religion" and can hurt the mentally ill or homosexuals if the parents deem that bad to be. But that doesn't automatically come with baptism. I am still going to teach my kids there are other beliefs out there, and to be compassionate to all people no matter who they are. I hope to avoid all the things you described, and I don't think my efforts automatically get negated with having them put water on their heads when they knew very little of what was going on.
I have never ever heard of anyone believing they were going to a hell-type place because they were baptized. Even those who think baptism as a baby doesn't count, just think you need it redone as an adult. As an aside, I dunno if this matters or not, but Catholic Confirmation is when someone looks back and decides that yes their baptism was valid and they are a Catholic. So they are still given a choice over their faith (within our faith structure, obviously they have a choice no matter what). We baptize babies as a "just in case" situation.
So ya, I do see your points as valid when it comes to the upbringing, but I think baptism has very little to do with it.
Last baptism I went to was for our friend's daughter. They are Russian Orthodox. Everything gets repeated 3 times. Fucking awful. But it cracked me up when I was watching the priest/rabbi/auctioneer pour bottles of Aquafina into the sink.
It's not holy unless it costs $6/Liter.
What kind of people don't bust for Fiji for this kind of thing.
Going through my grandmothers house after a serial arsonist set it on fire Tuesday morning (9th house in 2 weeks). So far we've found all of her cash and jewelry stashes, and 90% of her photos survived. She was only able to grab her phone on the way out, we were almost positive she had lost it all... guess not!
What the fuck. Find that fucker and set him on fire. Then take all his stuff and set it on fire. /pmsday
Got an apartment I'm (on paper) way under qualified for since they wanted proof of 2.5x the monthly rent to even be considered.
So, I did what any rational human being who wants something they aren't qualified for would do. I lied.
Got approved almost immediately, starting next month I will be living in a 2 bed 2 bath hardwood + tile floor apartment with central air, black marble counter tops, raised ceilings with fancy lighting, etc. I'm so pumped, it's such a nice fucking apartment.
So two wins I guess, win #1 being that lying, as usual, always works out for you and win #2 being that the Louisiana housing market still hasn't recovered from the shitstorm of natural disasters in the past decade. Place ultimately costs less than where I currently live in MA.
It's on Jefferson Highway, it's the Millenium Apartments or something.
Checked into the Disneyland Hotel for our anniversary trip and got our parking comped since it's our anniversary
