Last corporate dinner I went to was $1800 for 4.
Been at a few where we crossed the 20k line with wine pissing contests. 5-6 people. Work dinners aren't very fun tbh. Just ego trips for bosses.
I've thrown down a grand or more for dinner with 1-2 people but never for work. Fuck that shit, order me some shake shack.
I have never spent more than $100 at a restaurant. Fuck that shit for ever. I MIGHT spend that much on a romantic dinner for 2. Sure as shit not spending that kind of money on food for anyone else. At that point i'd rather take them to a grocery store and buy them a weeks worth of groceries or some such.
Also i hate talking about work outside of work with any of my coworkers. And anyone wanting my help on a related subject. Bitch you gonna pay me? Cos if i do this im doing my job and i dont do my job for free.
become a lobbyist and every meal you attend is 1k-2.5k a head and it never comes out of your pocket. hell yes flex on these zilches Tyven
I'm probably gonna spend $100+ taking my parents out to a steak and seafood restaurant for my mom's 75th birthday in 2 weeks.
And any work talk with coworkers is reserved for bitching over alcohol. Actual productive work talk can be on the clock. There's a reason I don't divulge my cell number to my coworkers because fuck getting texts in the middle of my vacation. Only happened once so far but it was informing me that the asshole that's STILL on medical leave (1.5 years and counting) did a huge fuck up doctoring documents to hide his fuck up triggering an ethics investigation.
Think my most expensive meal was dinner for Astylla and I for my birthday at Gordon Ramsey Steak at the Paris in Las Vegas. Think that was about 500ish after tip.
Yeah, all pissing contests aside. Aside from 2-3 meals, the best stuff I eat is in the 20-50 dollar a person range. The izakaya I go to is the fucking tits and they give me free edamame. Skewers on skewers and okonomiyaki for daysssssssssssssssssss
What make me fat and get me drunk?
Yes.
The highest I've seen tables go for at any charity gala dinner is 50k for a table of 10. 100 of those tables.
You can do the math.
Today I got my first paycheck from the new part time/seasonal/work from home job I picked up. I've been overpaid by about 20%. Either the company made a goof, hired me on for more than I realized, or have some kind of commission for completing projects that I was unaware of. Either way, hooray more money.
My final undergrad class was in december, but ceremony wasn't until today. Already had my diploma mailed to me months ago, but now it finally feels official. I got my piece of paper y'all wooooooooooo!
Extra credit win: on the way out, the orchestra started playing the music from the throne room scene in Star Wars Ep 4. I couldn't have askes for a better send off @_@.
