Some interim director did some crazy ass commute consisting of flying into LA from TX on Monday night, hotel for Monday - Thursday, fly out Thursday night on a red-eye back to TX, every week for 6+ months. He said he loved flying. The hell with that.

It already takes 45-50 mins for me to get in to work. Originally, we were looking for stuff about an hour from my work place, but this was a rare opportunity to be in a nice town within a block either direction of the main streets with restaurants, shops, and bars while still having a fair amount of outdoor space and a 1900SF home.

Also, got to think about our kids. The elementary and middle schools are rated 8/10 & 9/10 respectively. I think the public high school is a 7 or an 8.

Two summers ago I was doing an hour plus forty each way commute in a car without A/C. Was brutal for the heat but I didn't necessarily mind the driving.

also, I'm more confident than you think. keep in mind that you guys generally see the worst of what I have to offer. I mean if my self-esteem is garbage it's at least rich people garbage.

We have guys that drive in from Pennsylvania 3+ hours every morning to get here at 6am. Those guys are much better than me.

I'm moving to Seattle next year and I'm not looking forward to the commute.

Between my last unit in Oakland and my current one in Cape Cod I've both managed to live within 3 or so miles from work, but given the location of the base in Seattle (across the street from where the Seahawks and Mariners both play) a reasonable commute is gonna be impossible.

I shoot whatever I am invited to shoot. Lately this has mostly been things that the newspaper is interested in since I freelance for them. I also am photographing a year long bridge project for CalTrans since I live close to the project and they offered me access to the job site in exchange for photos for their news releases.

I used to have a 15 minute commute to an R&D lab I worked in. That was pretty great. Went two exits south on the parkway and a couple lights into town.

The problem now is that I don't want to live in NYC, but I have a connection for a possible job when I make the move. I haven't contacted them yet because I'm waiting for my PE stuff to clear so I can sit for the test before I make any moves. Need my current boss to endorse the paperwork, so until it comes back that I can sit I don't want to break that connection cause he's a vindictive fuck.
