But when will you know who the father is?
But when will you know who the father is?
guy I just started seeing, who I mentioned plays FFXIV?
also on the same Data Center.
say what you will, but the idea of playing an MMO with someone I'm dating has always geeked me out, in a good way.
not really excited, who knows if we'll get along, but it's still cool to know the option is there if things go well!
Depends on whether or not either of you think the other's a scrub, really.![]()
I keep forgetting about my credit card rewards points. Cashing out $500 in rewards points worth of credit.
Just landed in DC for the weekend. Staying at the W downtown. BG, what do?
but if you actually give me a minute I'll type up some okay stuff to do and some good restaurants. Strong hotel choice, the bar there is it's own nightlife destination in this dump of a city
Tyven and the other DC'ers can definitely chime in. I've only been twice. We did Oyamel for Mexican and cocktails, Churchkey for beer, and their restaurant downstairs for food (I forget the name). If you've got a kitchen where you're staying, grab some nice produce and meats at Eastern Market tomorrow morning and cook up a nice dinner.
Okay here we go:
Restaurants
My #1 seed overall is Rasika, even if you only partially fuck with Indian food it's amazing. It's basically everyone who is anyone
s favorite restaurant which is all you need to know. There are two in DC, one of which is an easy walk from the W
Most of the "cool and hip" restaurants are in Eastern Market which is a cool and hip neighborhood that has recently gentrified but still has hella hood around it. Like don't go there during the daytime. It's not DANGEROUS but it seems like a real dump cuz its just vagrants asking for money but in the evening damn it is rolling and a fun hood to be in
Acqua Al 2 - cool and good Italian spot in Eastern Market
Cafe Belge - cool and good Belgian spot in Eastern Market
Rose's Luxury - Prob the hardest restaurant to get a table at in DC. You only really go there to brag that you've gone there. Also in Eastern Market
Le Diplomate - Cool and good spot at 14th and U. Can be tough to get a table. U street corridor is one of the good nightlife spots for now
Astro Fried Chicken and Donuts - Go here to pick up some awesome donuts and fried chicken items. Easy walk from your hotel
Momofuku - Legendary ramen, easy walk from your hotel
Milkbar - dessert place attached to Momofuku that does these weird cereal milkshakes
Have to go to meeting but there is a good starting point for you
Hell yeah, dude. Thanks much, I'll check as many of these out as I can and report back.
oh yea and I forgot Old Ebbitt which is the oldest restaurant in the city and right next to your hotel
Yeah, old ebbit is on the list for sure I am so pumped to run into Donny and play some tennis with him
Just ate at Rasika yesterday for the Xth number of time. Tyven speaks the truth.
To add onto his list, if you're starving and it's like 3am in the morning on Saturday there's Crepeaway. They have sweet and savory items that are fucking godliek.
DBGB is also a nice spot if you can get a table. French bistro with amazing foie gras.
As far as sightseeing is concerned, there's tons of shit to visit. Expect almost all of them to be stupid packed at all times. I'd recommend oddball places like the Archives or the Botanic Garden. Pretty cool spots with minimal tourist trappings.
Got a 5% raise on review back in March, boss just pulled me into his office this morning to tell me I'm getting another 11% starting Monday. Hell yeah!
Some P good touristy shit to do:
Renwick Museum - small and chill art museum that is free, quick walk from your hotel
National Archives - See the Declaration and shit. The national Archives area is one of my favorite places to hang out in the city with bae or if I am killing time between being a DC Insider. Easy stroll down Pennsylvania Ave from your hotel where you'll have the fortune of walking past the Ronadl Reagan building, the new Trump Hotel, and get a cool view of the Capitol. There are some good places to grab coffee and relax outside over there or grab a cheap bite to eat.
Spy Museum - I haven't been there in in like 15 years and it's not free so I actually don't know if this is a good recommendation LOL
Walk around Capitol Hill - Idk how long you are here for but if you are here on Tuesday you should go visit your members of Congress. You can just walk right into their offices tho they might not be able to meet you, still worth walking around the House and Senate office buildings. Visit the Capitol too if you have time but that line sucks and the tour probably sucks as well so just take pics from outside. Library of Congress and Supreme Court are right over there as well along with the botanical gardens if you are in to that.
Go to a Nats Game? - Baseball sucks but the Nats are home all weekend and you can prog get tix for like 5-10 bucks. Stadium is in a recently revamped part of the city that is only getting better
Other Smithsonian Museums - Air and Space, Natural History, National Gallery, all that jazz. Just pick your poison I guess. It's all free.
DC Improv - Idk who is there this weekend but google it
DC Comedy Underground - http://www.undergroundcomedydc.com/ These are the venues where our boys Nick, Stav, and Adam used to perform before moving to NYC. Tix are usually like 5-15 bucks and sometimes big names will show up. Louic CK did a surprise set at Big Hunt a few weeks ago. I saw Michael Che and Jamel Johnson there recently
To add since Mexican food is hard to come by. Lauriol Plaza @ Dupont Circle. Good food and margaritas
If you really like Air&Space and have the time, the Udvar-Hazy museum out by Dulles is pretty great. They have the space shuttle Discovery, an SR71, and a shitton of random airplane engines/etc.
