When my Nana died back in 93 my grandfather started taking over her fudgemaking duties. He was pretty lonely and brokenhearted after she passed so we were really glad to see him start to do something positive. His fudge is just as good as my grandmother's and he makes so much of it now he scarcely has time to do anything else.

I should have him send me some this year, if by some chance in hell it survives in the mail. My dad's coming to town for Christmas, maybe I'll have him and my grandfather hook up so my dad can bring me some. Fuck yeah, fudge.

So, last week I was fired from my job for some bullshit(blessing in disguise). I'm waiting on unemployment, but in the meantime I build computers. Made my first sale last night and the guy was so thrilled. It was an awesome experience to see someone so excited for what they were getting!

Girlfriend's birthday is next weekend, just booked a cabin for us in the Shenandoah Valley for the Friday-Sunday for it. Since it's so soon and they had vacancy, got $50 knocked off the price because it was deemed a last minute booking (less than two weeks out).

Had a great interview today. Great feeling compared to the last one. Even if I don't get the job I have a better idea of what to put in my cover letter to get calls. Hell, where I got interviewed at today was at a prestigious private school. Just the fact I got an interview at all makes me feel good.


I have had so many disappointments so I am not gonna get my hopes up, but I am happy no matter the outcome.

Scored 90% on my practical final for networking. I just need a 60% on my written for the minimum. Certification exam should be a cake walk as my prof created his own and said if you can do his, you should have no problem with that one. Woot.

Had a rough draft due today, started it this morning, busted out 9 pages in about six hours. I have read and reread it a few times now, and I think despite the fact that I wrote it all today, it's a fairly decent paper. I'm definitely interested in my professor's comments.

Kind of amazing how two different calls to Comcast over the weekend that went to India or Bangladesh or SOMEWHERE had me on the phone for a combined 3 hours and got nothing resolved and them wanting to charge me for a technician visit, whereas a ten minute call today that went to an American got my issue resolved with deep apologies and a credit to my account.

Got a call from my aunt, few days before my birthday so I figured she might have gotten the date wrong. Asks me if I'm alone, which is somewhat unusual, even though I know that she doesn't trust my parents at all. She goes on and explains that, out of nowhere, they got a call regarding an insurance contracted by my biological father, who died 20 years ago. Basically, the agreed timeframe ended and I will be paid €2,800 (~USD3,500) next month. Best early birthday present ever!
