Had a great interview today. Great feeling compared to the last one. Even if I don't get the job I have a better idea of what to put in my cover letter to get calls. Hell, where I got interviewed at today was at a prestigious private school. Just the fact I got an interview at all makes me feel good.


I have had so many disappointments so I am not gonna get my hopes up, but I am happy no matter the outcome.

Looks like things are turning around in the English teacher job market.

First, I am about 90% sure I am going to get called back for this job. Two days after the interview I got an email from the admin assistant telling me they needed me to fill out an employment application form. Logically speaking, if they thought I wasn't the one, they wouldn't have bothered having me fill that out. The 10% not sure is they are interviewing all week, so there is always a chance that there are enough people today and tomorrow blowing me out of the water, and they won't need me to do the next set.


On top of that, I got an email yesterday from the school district I sub at. They also need a long term sub in the spring...haha. So, I told them I was interested, and we will see from there.

Chances are looking good that I will get at least ONE of these positions.

The severe problem becomes what happens if they both want me, and I have no fucking idea which one to choose.

But, I shouldn't count my chickens before they hatch so we shall wait and see if that even happens.

Yeah, that probably won't get better. No need to worry, though; seeing how I was four when he died, I've managed to get over it.

I'm not that worried about it being a scam, though, seeing how my aunt already has all the documents and has made no mention of anything suspicious, but I'll see once she sends everything my way. Definitely better to be careful, though, that's true.

Best of luck to you! If I'm not mistaken, you were trying really hard to get a position as a teacher, so I hope it works out for you. Not being able to do the job you really want to do is terrible.

Yeah it's funny how life works. I had JUST started looking at trying to get a job outside of teaching because of getting nothing, and then I suddenly am getting all these opportunities.

So I got a newsletter from Newegg advertising a sweepstakes in which the grand prize is a new gaming PC. Looked at the specs and my new pc makes the grand prize look like a chew toy. that's a really good feeling.


i still entered though because fuck yeah free shit. also second and third are xbone/ps4 and all three come with monitors/TVs which would be useful. plus i can always give the prize pc to my parents, or use it as a secondary computer or something silly.
