Didn't get many instructions aside from that (No smoking and no straws). Been following so far. Also told not to swish anything (like when I just did mouth wash this morning I just rotated my head to the left slowly, then to the right slowly, then opened my mouth and let it pour out)

It can be a while. When I had the last of my wisdom teeth yanked, I didn't realize they had to cut out some funky grown bone to get to one of the teeth and I was popping 6-8 advil a day for about 3 weeks while it healed. It fucking sucked.

I count myself a lucky person that I actually love Christmas. Too often I hear about how people hated the holidays, hated to be lied about Santa, hate their families etc.. I love it though. Never had an issue about believing in Santa, love my families. I just overall enjoy the season.

Google has done a really good job with the Santa tracker and I've been loving showing it to my daughter who is super excited. Getting to watch her believe is even better than when I got to believe. I can't wait until tomorrow morning!

Holidays are so awesome yet sad for me now that my late mom has been gone 9 years now. She made such a huge deal of them all always making her home open regardless of what transpired during the year. Hours of cooking and baking, card games and football colourful discussions.. Lol.

I'm trying to figure how to make the holidays our own now. I'm thankful I retained my giving spirit and joy of it all regardless. It is hard to know I have nothing from my childhood to physically have (ornaments, recipes lost, holiday items lost) but I guess I still have time to make new ones

I was totally a believer. I believed until the third grade. My parents owned an apt house and often would get items people left when they moved. one day I went into the garage and saw a talking mickey (that thing was the shit, I wish they still made them) lying on the counter. I figured it was from the apt.

Come xmas, I open up a gift from santa and it was the mickey. Guess my dad had taken it out of the box to put batteries in it and forgot to hide it. So, that's when I knew.



This year is the first year we will have xmas as a "complete" family. With two cats and two kids we are set. It's a nice feeling. ^^

Was it Listerine/alcohol based? I've always got instructions not to use that for a week. It's always been to mix a teaspoon of salt in 8 fl. oz. of warm water, and use that 3-4 times a day.

I've been kind of panicking last two days. Since i'm on workmans comp I have to wait on physical temporary disability checks. I got the email like clockwork on Sunday the amount had been released . Typically check comes on Monday - nothing. Okay holiday..maybe Tuesday - nope. Okay now I'm getting worried but hubby reminded me that the holiday is crazy so not to panic. Check mail today and it arrived. Don't even care when it clears just that it's here. Panic attack averted and now I can drink and eat to my heart's content without guilt.

yeah, government administrated benefits are sluggish and stupid at the best of times. my local social security office is open 9 AM to 3 PM, with an hour break at noon.... Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday. Wednesday they close at 1pm, keeping their hour break at noon. They also often close early just because. I'll call in at like 1:30, 2:00, and get their "We're closed, these are our hours" message. I don't know what they do for holidays but I'm pretty sure they don't magically develop a better work ethic.

Maybe if I could get a job there I wouldn't need all this assistance!

Gave my brother in law and his wife a PS4 for our christmas yesterday and it was amazing seeing their reaction. Earlier in the day they had commented at the get together how they had been looking at them before but couldn't justify it right now.
The best part was my brother in law just ripping the paper some and looking at me going " No fucking way.." and then "It's still sealed..no..it can't be real" ; It made my year honestly. I may not have kids but this was pretty damn close to what I remember my mom doing for me growing up and it felt amazing to really surprise someone. My sister in law was overwhelmed by everyone's generosity and was crying.

I agree. That is a phenomenal feeling the first time it happens. When my oldest niece was a few years old and could show that kind of appreciation, there was nothing else like it. Holidays stopped being about what I got and became about seeing the joy on somebody else's face when they tore off the wrapping paper.

Had my basically lawyer appointed workmans comp. doctor appointment today - this doctor was chosen out of some list agreed upon by y lawyer and the insurance company as well to have a non biased opinion.
Appointment was at 3:30pm - arrive at 3pm to fill out paperwork. Can barely read my own writing due to right hand hurting so bad - I never regained full strength or control after carpal tunnel release. Takes twenty minutes to fill it out and wait patiently.
Get taken back around 4:15pm and asked more questions about injury/pain level , etc ( on my left hand). Informed I have to have another nerve study and have a panic attack but kept my shit together.

I had one on both hands in 2013 but they want another and understandably so it's part of the exam but fuck this shit hurts. Nerve study doesn't even begin until around after 5pm due to doctor running late. Guy was really awesome though..even though my husband could hear me scream at the pain from the testing on my right hand and elbow - apparently the test showed some significant nerve damage in right elbow area so now I have to bring that up at my orthopedic doctor appointment tomorrow..ugh.
He went and got my husband because he was concerned how much pain I was in and crying from. He took his time to ensure the tests were safe and did everything he could to use minimal pain - awesome bedside manner - he was in shock at the numbers ; as they were at least double what they should be ; and shook his head at this being denied. It fucking sucked but in a way it was all worth it to know this isn't going away and the numbers can't be faked , this is fucking real and not normal and this is work related.

I still laugh that workman's comp tried to bully me into saying it couldn't be work related because the severity of symptoms didn't show at the same time in both hands and that I can't possibly use two hands with repetitive motion in a data entry/keyboarding position. Even though a previous nerve study showed all this before..fuck insurance companies. I am hopeful this is the end of the hard fight and this QME exam will seal the deal on me getting my fucking surgery.

Thank you , I really appreciate it. Between forcing to take Norco on average at least once a day and the numbness/pain that won't go away even sometimes when just sitting the fuck down I wouldn't wish it on anyone. I am grateful all the doctors I have seen have been on the same page and shaking their heads at the idiocy of how long it's gone on. I've been off work since November of 2013 :*(

I cannot fucking like this enough. The stupidest thing is I could potentially have been back to work at least a month now , meaning they wouldn't still be paying me if they didn't try to "save money". Fuck them to hell.
