So much win haha
Turns out this really was the case, so thanks a lot for your input (even though I, of course, spent two weeks learning about as much as I could about everything else, which did not help me in the slightest)!. We did the exact same as in the online test, though they exchanged spelling for very basic maths. Tackled that one first because I was nervous and figured it would be best to do something that doesn't require somewhat precise hand-eye coordination, but that turned out to be a mistake. Despite being quite good at basic calculation because I hated using the calculator back in school, I got stuck on one problem I just couldn't figure out.
We could only solve one equation at a time and had to answer one to see the next, so I spent about 1/3 of the entire time trying to figure out what to do, until I finally managed to calm down enough to just input a wrong equation and move on (which they told us to refrain from, which further complicated the decision-process, even though that would have been my modus operandi). After that, I did extremely well on the parts as far as I could tell, but the first part bothered me a lot.
Nonetheless, I received a mail today that my test results put me up for further consideration, but they can't tell for sure until they're done with all tests, which is weird because this was supposed to be the last one. Might have something to do with all applicants for jobs offered by the town having to take the same test, with the extent varying depending on the job.
Anyway, somewhat good news for now.
I have an interview at 9 AM tomorrow. Wish me luck!
My mom is coming down to visit at the end of this month. I've lived here for seven years and this will be the first time she's been here to visit me (though she was in Orlando a few years ago to take a cruise, I drove there to see her but it was only for like 6 hours). I'm excited but now I gotta scrub this place down like I'm back in the barracks.
So I have been sick since a few days before New Years. Basically stuffy nose, cough the entire time. I haven't been able to breathe through my nose for basically two weeks. I'll NSFW this next part, because some might find it gross.

i fucking love that feeling.
I was expecting a pic if you're calling it NSFW
I felt good just reading that part.
Also, good luck, Buffy!
I'm still perpetually baffled by just how much snot we can stuff into our head. Though, having my tonsils removed when I was kid seemingly gave the stuff even more room to hide.![]()
I gave Noah one of my really old flip phones that I still had a charger for. So we're all sitting down in the game room and he's wandering around. Out of nowhere mmusic starts playing and my wife is looking around like the fucking place is haunted. Kid found the old music library on the phone. He has managed to remember how to do it. Now every time he plays with it this comes on and I smile.
Definitely a win, lol
Just a warning, old cell phones can still dial 911 without a contract.
My son used to like to play with the cordless phone at my mom's house, and he called 911 once. They called me right back, I apologized profusely, then disconnected the phone (we had others) before handing it back to him. He then proceeded to flip his shit because the buttons didn't make noise anymore.
Good times.
Keep forgetting to post this but it's on my mind atm and I'm not busy so here goes:
On New Year's day my mom walked out front door to find this beautiful dog (Great Pyrenees) on our driveway (we live on a hill like 500 feet from the road), she was really friendly but a little skittish. It wasn't our neighbors dog and she was obviously a pet because she was clean and had a collar that was in good shape, but no tags. She starts hanging around after my mom pets her, naturally. So we look on craigslist etc. for lost dogs, nada. My mom figured she had gotten scared from the fireworks the night before and run off. She kept acting like she wanted to go for a walk so my dad decides to walk down the street and see if she leads herself home, but to no avail. Vet was closed for the day so couldn't take her to see if she was microchipped. We decide to let her spend the night in our laundry room and take her to vet next day to check for chip. No chip. Bring her home because my mom and I weren't about to put her in the pound. Put ad on craigslist and give our info to relevant places in our area in case somebody is trying to find her. Bought some dog food etc.
Fast forward to that evening, I've moved her into my room where it's warmer, and given her a lot of attention. You could see she was tired and a little skittish not knowing where she was, but she was very well behaved regardless. Dad claimed we were going to give it until after the weekend and then drop her off at the pound, but my mom and I weren't having any of that. He's adamant he doesn't want another dog since we put our last one down, and we know it's because he doesn't want to go through the pain of losing another dog, so we're gently nudging him away from that notion and were hoping this would change his mind. At around 9 PM we get a call from the pound that they've given our information to somebody looking for a great pyrenees. My mom gets the call, makes sure it's the owner and gives him our address so he can come pick her up. Apparently the owner's daughter is autistic and this dog is her best friend, and she's been freaking out since that morning. It was a new collar and he had the tags on the table and hadn't put them on her yet. She had run off after a super loud explosion happened next to their house.
He comes and picks up the dog, thanks us profusely and gives a $300 reward, even though he never mentioned one and we didn't ask. Una (oo-na) was her name. Really cool dog and a super good feels for all involved. Not gonna lie though, I wish nobody would have claimed her because I really want another dog and I want my little brother (who's 8 now) to grow up with a dog and he's at the perfect age to appreciate one.
/sigh Can't steal a dog from an autistic girl though.
FUCK THAT FOLLOW HIM AND GET YOUR DOG BACK
You almost stole an austistic kids dog. Hahahahaha... And it was even easier then taking candy from a baby.
