In NC if you wanted hard liquor you needed to go to a stupid ass ABC store which had limited hours and closed on anything resembling a holiday, shit was stupid. In NY/NJ I can go to a fucking bodega and buy a big ass bottle of vodka.

Yeah FL is pretty nice, they can't sell alcohol after midnight except from bars, but other than that, I don't think there are any restrictions.
lol at PA isn't a religious state...the motherfucker is named after king quaker.
In Tallahassee, the bars close at 2am. There is an infamous gas station called the Zewditu that is probably 200 feet outside the city limits that sells beer all night. Its run by a bunch of Arabs who are bankrolled by drunk people. This little unassuming po-dunk gas station turns into the hottest night spot after 2am every night. It's insane.
Bars close at 2 on this side of the bay and at 3 on the Tampa side, so most people just drink over there then drive across the bridges piss-fucking drunk. There have been several wrong-way crashes on the interstates due to this (though one was actually said to be a suicide) and I don't ever cross the bay after 1AM anymore because I fucking don't want to die.
Pilot I edited last fall for ABC Family just got picked up for 10 1-hour episodes. Going to be 5 straight months of awesome-paying work, I'm stoked as fuck. It's the 4th pilot I've cut that has gone to series now.
PS I just worked 16 hours straight to finish the Essence Black Women in Hollywood awards show, check it out tomorrow night on OWN
On the pilot, there was an assistant editor who synced and grouped the footage, a story producer who "strung out" some of the scenes, and myself, who edited the stringouts (and some scenes from scratch) into the pilot. The producer oversaw the whole process.
On the Essence awards, another editor and I cut the "pretape" packages (about the award winners) and then they shot on Thursday, so Friday myself and 4 other editors split the acts up and marathon edited it so it could be mixed this morning and air tonight.
Wow, I didn't realize how much production with so little people went on behind the scenes. Congrats
Oh wait, Sketchy is Atlas, not Lionsgate. Nevermind.
Archi that is amazing, congratulations.
I have a phone interview with Amazon Tuesday. The job is dope as fuck, I REALLY REALLY want to do well.
This seems to me like an excuse to brag and complain simultaneously, so I'm gonna do that.
Positive things:
I've been doing some background work on a disney channel show called K.C. Undercover and it's super fun and the cast is great and meeting people is great.
(I'm an actor)
Negative things:
My parents both would rather not have a gay son, so this past holiday season as Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's passed I came to terms with the fact that once I move out I probably won't ever be with my family for the holidays again. (I am moving out over the summer.)
late to the party but after reading all the liquor store bullshit above I guess my random win is I live in nj
now if it would stop being zero fucking degrees all the time I'd be on to something
It's finally fucking happening..workman's comp authorization finally came through for my left wrist. IT ONLY TOOK ALMOST A FUCKING YEAR SINCE MY FIRST SURGERY BUT IT'S HAPPENING OMFG.
Getting a lawyer was indeed the best thing we ever fucking did.
Surgery date is March 13th pending any issues ion their end ( overbooked/surgeon can't make it). I could fucking cry right now I'm so fucking happy.
And my husband is fucking amazing for taking us to Disneyland this weekend to celebrate <3
Got my tax refund today and paid off my wife's car. Feels good man! We're out of debt and now saving up for a down payment on a house.
Employee incentive program results came in. 15% yearly salary bonus around same time as tax returns. Going to be doing the fuck yea shuffle come March 15th.
