If the market prices of furnishings (crafting tables included) were based on how "useful" they were, 99% of that shit would be worthless.

I accidentally NQ'd a Darksteel Ingot, so I bought an ADS plating for 300 gil and sold the furnishing it makes for over 100k. Demand only applies if you assume people don't overspend silly things for reasons you can't explain. Supply on the other hand, yeah if there were a bunch of workbenches up at some point, inevitable those would get undercut. There's a limited number of goofy rich people burning a hole in their pockets, which is why I generally never synth furnishings for profit unless there's 0 up on AH. Even then it's risky.
