Is there any reason to gear DoM retainers above IL70?

I've heard that in order to get the max level DoL missions done you need to have a very high Gathering stat...is it the same for the DoW/DoM ones? (although since there is no gathering stat I'm not sure what you might use) If so that's another advantage for DoW/DoM over DoL for retainers.

Gathering is the determinate stat for DoL retainers, you need 383 to do the highest level exploration ventures and you can't get that much without a lot of melds and/or the ilvl 70 tool.

DoW/M only depend on average ilvl, stats on the gear are irrelevant, so you can slap old i90 casting/healing/etc accessories on a LNC retainer if you want.

Increasing the gathering stat/ilvl will reduce the amount of time regular 1hr ventures take in steps of 10 mins to a minimum of 40 mins, I don't know what the various thresholds are but at ilvl 82 mine still take 1 hr for the lvl 41-50 hunts, 50 mins for 31-40, and 40m for everything below that.

I recall updating my retainer's gear effecting it while they were still leveling, it's possible I'm thinking about item yield tho.

Too lazy to dig up my old post in this thread but I found it to be

ilvl (or Gathering for DoL) = yield, in tiers
raw lvl = time
-20+ overleveled = 40m
-10-19 overleveled = 50m
-0-9 = 1h

Time to completion for hunting
- Retainer level < 9 levels above item tier = 1 hour
- Retainer level > 10 && < 20 = 50 minutes
- Retainer level > 20 = 40 minutes

From what I've seen so far the xiv's are a consistent 4 silvers + either hq mats or a mossy weapon part.

7 turn-ins so far (4 on 2 characters but one of them is a badly geared fisher)
