Yea my MIN/BTN retainers brought back their useless equivalents as well on a few occasions.

I actually only realized recently that there aren't even lvl 60 exploration ventures, they stop at 55.

I guess SE didn't have the time to develop such advanced content, you know, retainer ventures.

Mine bought me nq fragrant loss and umbral ticks and then a hq gigant clam from my Fisher. I've had all 3 lucius for some time

Yeah, I got those as well, didn't bother putting those into the list because, no one really cares anymore when you're lv60

Seems like the price of floss silk is going up because so many people have ditched their botanist retainers.

I assume items like Floss Silk and minions are included in the higher tier exploration ventures when they're released?

ie. Any of the rare/unique retainer venture items you could get from the 50 explorations you can also get from the 55.

i tried for like two weeks straight with two btn retainers, couldnt get a single fucking silk. All fragant logs/rosemary shits.

iirc they did "move up" when additional exploration ventures were released at lvl 50 tho.

Floss Silk is the right venture on that list at least, since I posted that after I got one the other week.

Maybe for the minions at least, I suppose it could definitely be possible (Fat Cats, Littlefoots, etc.). I've only gotten shit like Floss Silk exclusively from the only pre-existing Venture though (XIV).

I've been running the BTN Lv55 venture for a few weeks and I can definitely say it gives Littlefoot, but I've yet to see a Floss Silk

The only "rare" thing I've got aside from that minion was from my MIN Lv55 venture was a Steel Mainspring, but it's only used for turning into a Clockwork Barrow (a wheelbarrow that carts around a Gyshal Green), but I don't know why the fuck that came from a MIN retainer rather than BTN one.

So I have one of each gathering retainer plus one hunter. Plan is to get all of them to max level asap and then send them out for specific things like rare minions, etc. They're all currently between 35-51.

At the current 3.0 era,

Miners and DoW/M are the best due to mat farming. Botanist / Fisher not so much. Rare pets are nice I suppose, but if you're purely factoring in gil, chances are you'll make more with DoW/M than trying to get Fat Cat or whatever.

Of course, this could all change in 3.1

lots of new fish were added to fisher retainers. Mog Pom, Blue Sky Coral, Sweetfish amongst others. Hope it drives down the price of the Mog Poms and Blue Corals, was always hesitant to make the stupid dissolvents cause I hated fishing for these xD

Oh definitely. I look at how much money my Fisher can make and compare that to spamming High Level Roulette for gil drops + In Need bonus and it's a joke. It's the main reason I started levelling DRK. Between DRK and WHM I'm never not getting the In Need bonus.

I must be doing something wrong. My retainers bring me rare/ex paint most of the time. Usually pink or lavender.

I haven't seen it mentioned in this thread but supposedly Iron Giant scraps used to make the Iron Dwarf minion come from Field Exploration XVIII DoW/M retainers according to xivdb.com.
