Throughout its 16-year run, MTV’s The Challenge has seen contestants chalk up their poor performances to subpar teammates, conspiring alliances, and sexual tension.
So, for the show’s upcoming 25th season, there will be no partners and no teams. For the first time, it’s every (wo)man for themselves.
The Challenge: Free Agents kicks off on April 10 with 28 MTV alumni fighting solo for more than $350,000 in prize money. And, also unlike previous seasons, Season 25 will see a random draw select one male contestant and one female contestant to head into the elimination round against contestants chosen by that week’s winners.

Fine with me; it's not like Fantasy Sports when people might get cut, traded, or injured at the last minute. I started a league, if folks are interested, PM me your e-mail address and I'll send out an invite. Last time, we had Moss, Headspace, and myself, would be nice to get at least 4 this time. And really, any number up to about 7 would work OK. There are 28 contestants this time, I'd like to have at least 4 each.

This Draw gimmick is intense and the preview for the whole season made it look like Jordan goes balls out and picks all the cards to go against someone (Bananas).

Aside from that, the scoring seems weird, but didn't seem like much hooking up in this episode to get bonus points? Seems like all the points were for winning the challenges/not being eliminated. Was planning on Chet being a dark horse pick, but welp.

Just watched ep. 1, thoughts:

Love the overall set-up. Some solo challenges, some duo challenges, some team challenges - great variety. Shouldn't be any throwing of challenges because of the randomness factor, which is also set up well since there is no chance of it being pre-arranged.

The rest of season preview looks great. Jordan challenge looks EPIC.

I do like this format. The one thing I didn't like about episode 2 was that the winning team had to choose from the teams that didn't make the bottom 4, meaning one team had to come from the bottom 4, and the other from the 8 teams that didn't lose. The winners should have been able to pick any of the other teams. Had they picked one of the bottom 4, that person just doesn't go into the draw.

I agree - that's a small quirk though. I didn't understand the selecting by Cohutta and Laurel; weren't they supposed to agree on one person? What if they had selected different people? It showed "votes" and Johnny asked them separately for each person for some reason.

Other random thoughts:

-Jessica is the worst
-What is with Emilee (and Jessica) throwing themselves at Dustin? Are they not aware of his gayporny past?
-Both challenges have been solid, although the stairs portion of the first one was a bit strange in execution. Both eliminations have been great, especially the wall climb
-Nany and Camila are two of the biggest lunatics of all time

Another thing that is crazy is this new blood young fit mother fuckers mostly take a shit in these challenges. I know the politics are involves but but fuck I assume when you get voted they through you in a it with a competitor as the other ones I never understand how that same wins all the time, btw who won last year wasn't it The Challenge: Rivals or some shit?
