This seems like it could be just selective reporting which may skew what seems as actual results. Someone is more than likely to report a back to back drops or five drops in an hour than report they didn't get a drop after two fates or any after an hour. That said, tag FATEs for gold and run to the next, let others finish them for you to be most efficient.

You don't even need gold and the fate can fail.

For soldiery catch any S rank and trials roulette seems to be good. Trials because of the fairly good chance for first timers' bonus.

didnt they kinda nerf the amount of soldiery you get? before myth would give way more then soldiery give now via duty roulette (albeit it took the myth place)

im on 7th book worth of soldiery.... gotta rush it when i got enough for 8th 9th book

just do ALL the roulette even low lvl, as a tank, you can dictate the speed

someone already novus, just saw it 5 mins ago :X

Is it even worth it to upgrade this now with 2.4? I took a break before 2.3 hit and had never bothered to upgrade my weapon past atma since I got upgraded glanzfaust pretty quickly. Now I'm back without a static and just figuring out the best way to go about all this. Will nexus weapons ever be upgraded beyond 115?

Nexus will probably be upgraded to 125 in 2.45 and 135 in 2.55

soldiery = maps

hunts are still good for animus/alex but theres no more rush for it, so you prolly have to make a PT and run across zones

Maps. Right. Are those soloable? I thought I read when they first came out that they were sort of tough.

Certain ones can be challenging for certain jobs. Generally speaking any one that spawns adds, deal with those ASAP.

Bringing one friend or a healer chocobo would be safest. DPS have the hardest time imo but you should have enough HP to survive if you don't eat AoE you're not supposed to.

if you have smn leveled, use that for alex maps, and use titan. you can solo any of the maps as smn that way, with or without chocobo.

For the cyclops and puk x3184901235 one, make sure to have blizzard II set and set down shadow flare at your feet. spam blizzard II, will kill them before they take off more than a thousand hp or two. other ones are fairly obvious for smn to solo, other than the golem and bombs. just take the bombs out asap when you see them, you have enough time to spread DoTs and take them out, or save up aetherflow and energy drain them to death. have titan help out.

They are easy to solo as tank, but you can also solo them as melee dps (both with healer chocobo).
