Drop rate still eats turds.

I ground out my atmas over a weekend afternoon. The influx of players leveling ROG and NIN helps the FATEs go down faster but the drop rate is still nuts.

I grouped with two other atma farming players and had some strange things happen. One guy had atma drop for him three FATEs in a row in the same zone while neither I or the other party member got anything. Not sure if being in a party messes with the loot structure or if it's purely player independent but that was a kick in the teeth after being in that zone for over an hour already.

Couple nights ago before maint we had nothing to really do so a few of us farmed atma with our coil WAR. He got the 10 he had left in about 4 hours. I joined like an hour in and got 4 of mine (6/12) and a double of south thanalan. Don't think we spent more than an hour in any one zone.

seriously. got my full set of atma in around 6 hours, and I solo'd most of the fates. my curtana took me over 50 hours easy, in contrast.

Yeah, although responses to it range from "holy shit they fixed atmas!" to "fuck RNG atmas still suck", the consensus does tend to be positive at least though.

All 12 atma for sword/shield in under 2 hours. RNG is R, but I can't imagine anyone thinking the change wasn't fairly dramatic

Atmas definitely way easier, got 3 in one hour yesterday morning after being inspired to resume my Atma efforts by a FC pal getting one from his first fate in 3 consecutive zones.

this has been updated so you can get atma while on zenith/animus/novus, right?

Don't think so. Zenith gets Atma, Atma gets nothing, Animus and above gets Alex. Alex has priority over Atma. Don't think this has changed.

I believe they made it so Novus or Nexus (maybe both?) can get Alex, there was something like that mentioned at some point.

Hey BG, I have a question about Novus>Nexus. I just hit Extreme activity and recently I decided that I wanted to redo my stats on my Bravura. I went and removed all of one stat on the scroll and right now its at 52/75. Anyone got any idea if I can turn it in to get the Nexus for the stats as it is now and still have the scroll count for the Nexus?

Stats on your relic stay as they are until you change it with a new scroll, so yeah you can get Nexus before your new scroll is finished and it'll be fine.

Does that mean you can just load up a scroll with every type of shitty materia and avoid having to use tier 4s entirely, then later on once you have a higher tier relic you can "fix" the stats? I just resubbed (haven't played since 2.0 basically) and was debating trying to power through relic upgrades, if I could just skip the bullshit materia costs and get straight to the higher ilvl/base damage then slowly work on fixing the stats that'd actually be doable. Was only planning on subbing for a month so there's no way I'm spending it spiritbonding/making gil to afford a proper materia set up.
