7/12
Everyone I've talked to that is done, willl spend an hour max per zone. I was dumb enough to do 5 straight hrs in bentbranch. (7hrs total to get the atma)
While it could be just RNG being RNG but I plan on swapping zones once an hour from here on out.
Swapping zones should have no effect on how long it takes to get your atmas, unless there's something affecting the drop rate that we don't know about. Given SE's lazy game design on the quest I really doubt that. All the people I know who finished fast just had good RNG and stayed in the same zone until they got the drop. Even had one join the same zone I was farming for 2 hours and get his within half an hour. 3 hours later I was still there before giving up for the night.
You can do over 4, I'm not even sure what the thing... means by its comment (the npc says that but no idea why)
Here's what I think though...!
atm you can raise several stats, there are 3 books for some stats.
Example, 3 books of MND on the atma is only +37MND
so when you finish the weapon, you get +1 MND etc etc and + weapon damage aka the "final book?". (someone go ask that JP guy what happens after the 9th book, considering the shit you need to do, i doubt SE will just hand you the boost)
Also, considering from various rumors on the web that the weapon can go to Ilvl 110 in 2.25? 2.3? from some mystery yoshi P interview I can't find, it will probably require more books to upgrade... 1,500 soldier tome books x9 go...! >.>
I assume the 110 upgrade will either require Coil or some new content, depending on when it's launched. Doubt it will require Soldiery since there's already a weapon option that consumes 1300 Soldiery tomes
Generally speaking I seem to average 15-20 ish FATEs an hour. You might only be active for 20-30 mins per zone but I know I've been there pretty solidly for the full hour. There's a few dickish zones where it's impossible to hit that but something like Aleport, it's easy to hit like maybe 25 ish. Like there's 8 FATEs at the Sahagins that all get zerged down in less than 2 mins and are pretty close together and there's rarely ever a time that theres no fate up, they seem to be on around 15 min repops. I've spent 8 hours in that zone with no drop so I could very easily be over 200 FATEs in that zone, I've sacked it off til last because it's annoyed me so much.
I'm at 6 atmas in ~600 FATEs. I don't know the exact amount but I do know it's at least 600 due an achievement ding. I'm just getting fucked RNG wise but it doesn't make it any less frustrating.
Sure I could be lazier and put in less effort per fate to tab out more but I couldn't do anything productive in that time as they end so quickly.
I just love the RNG have 3 right now, got 1 of them on my third FATE (Ram), the other (Maiden) after 3 hours of farming (on different days; I keep it at 1 h tops) and the other one (Fish) I got after 5 h =/. Looking for Water bearer right now, I think I'm sticking to La Noscea.

World first animus?
Derp. That's what I get for not clicking links.
Dying to know what colour it glows.
Appears to be purple-ish?

He can have world-first completion, but I'm still hogging my glory for first achievement. PLD shield hax and whatnot.
That screenshot blows away my theory on the "four books" thing. I figured at first it was only Statx2 and VITx2 until you finished one, then the rest opened. Probably just a mistake or odd translation, since Sword has 4 types and Shield had 2 of its own.
Also, regarding the final bump for damage: I'm assuming it's based strictly on the conversion to Animus. Shield gained the extra block strength/rate just for getting the bump in name.
The point should be more about changing scenery instead. You'll burn yourself out just staying in one zone for hours on end. Especially if you are constantly in a Party Finder party with people coming and going as they get their atmas. Shit eats away at you, lol. With that said, I'ma start doing the hour zone swaps myself.
