Yeah, the grind sucks, but it's a higher-end weapon for doing simple content. Want a faster weapon? Farm Leviathan for a Mirror...but considering the drop rate (myself 1/40) it's still going to take a while. Want a guaranteed weapon? Soldiery tokens and Coil.

So basically anybody can get a decent weapon by investing enough time. Anyone with a functioning brain can farm LEX for a faster weapon, and those progressing in coil will get the good stuff.

I haven't seen an atma drop since Sunday. Currently rocking a 7 hour streak with no drop. Still 6/12. This shitty RNG makes me want to not play because I don't want to farm atma and I don't want to do anything else until I get my atma, so I don't log in.

Just be patient, you'll finish it soon or later. If you think you're spending too much time on it take a break, do contents or crafts etc. Don't brute force yourself into fates or you'll be disgusted.

I learned the hard way. Just..don't go out saying you're gonna fate farm. Just run into a fate if it's close or do a little here and there, don't beat yourself up. I struggled SO hard with my first couple of atma then somehow managed to finish over my next three days without actually hardcore grinding. Just..don't drive yourself insane and burn yourself out.

I have a fc mate that said he got an atma from running into a fate, hitting a mob, and getting a bronze fail.

This is how I treated most boss FATEs as they wind down in the last minute or so. It's worked pretty well; I finished all my Atma in about 13.5 hours total.

Couldn't you technically just run in, hit something, and then book it right to the next FATE? Rinse, repeat, make everyone else do the work until it catches on and nobody gets shit since nothing will ever die.

I had credit in 6 FATEs at one point in Western La Noscea; I ended up getting double Crabs from Tender Buttons and Sharknado.

Do my usual pull first, which is everything to the first gate. BRD tells me my pull was insane and that "everyone stops at the ramp wtf". So okay, whatever. I pull to ramp only, SCH still lets me die (he's i90 of course).

Just said fuck it, it's too early for this shit and left. I'd rather do 20 min runs in DF on SMN cuz at least with that shit I know what I'm in for and maybe I get an Opo-opo.

Because I can't believe this is all happening in one morning: Just had to tank an entire Brayflox HM on SMN since WAR ditched after first pull. 24 minutes though, not so bad lol.

Just to clarify because it's early and I'm dumb, you don't need to get Gold to get an Atma, just Bronze?

Despite massive bitching and moaning, everything I've seen so far seems to support a 2-4% drop rate. Yes, RNG can and will fuck you. But anyone who says they've gone 200+ fates without an atma drop is lying or in the wrong zone, let alone people saying "I've done thousands!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

Sath, bro. It can certainly happen. After 16 hours in Southern Than and about 9 in Upper La Noscea, I decided to actually watch the Achievement counter in Eastern Than. I went 201 without a drop and decided to start cycling zones instead of actually paying attention to just how bad it can be.

Other nice solid numbers. I changed nations right at the beginning of 2.2 and got my 100k Grand Company Seals Achievement for Limsa while grinding FATEs. I also went from about 45k on toward my Butcher's Crown to currently being at 71k. Sure, I've done some other content in the meantime, but most of that is pure FATE grinding.

On the flip side, I did get 1/1 on one while doing storyline as I happened to be in the zone. Another was 1/3 and both of the ones from the new beast tribe dailies dropped for me randomly while just out doing my dailies.

However, any zone I set down with a mind to farm fucks be sideways. I know it's all RNG, but fuck it's brutal.

Not sure body count for Butcher's Crown is a good indicator. Some FATEs have a shitton of mobs that'll inflate it and some FATEs only have 1.

there's an achievement for fates completed, that's probably the one he's referring to.

Like I said, I made 201 (and some since) in Eastern than based on the "Destiny's Child" achievement. I as just offering the others as a few other metrics. After hitting such a big number I decided it was probably better for my sanity if I didn't know and now I'm jumping from zone to zone every hour or so just to keep up morale.
