I pick my nose and poke at all the misc achievements to do in the game. If lights weren't such a boring grind I would make a few more as well. Getting to the point where all that is left is pvp/fcob to get done :c

yea i was lucky i was motivated during nexus release when everyone was rushing it so i hopped on the bandwagon

since then, it was a torture for me. NIN took me like 7 days because no one was farming lights at all that time...

it will certainly get a boost in future but for now its a major block for a IL5 upgrade

current ZW step is nowhere near vexing as nexus

not gotta jinx it tho, still 1 more step coming before heavensward.... but i got a feeling they gotta use raid/trials/guildhest for the next one

gotta make us bring carry everyone to same content lvl before 3.0!

One good thing is if you've done it once to zodiac, the nexus step should be easier since you can do lights and dungeons farm at the same time.

That is kinda what I'm doing.

I haven't finished my first Zodiac. Working on getting my Gae bolg to nexus and my Bravura to Novus. So I can farm light on my Bravura novus and get instant queues for dungeons while I farm dungeons for zodiac drops for my Gae Bolg then another round for Bravura. Then when I finish all those zodiac drops, I assume I'll be around 500 light, going to farm t4 for my titles, bear mount, and gil.

How? atma grinds, animus books, and alexandrites are super easy. Hunts are so accessible.

So don't use IVs.

If you think single digit amounts of secondary stats are worth that much gil, pick up a fantasia and change races to one with more of your job's main stat.

It'll make a bigger difference.

I wish I could star this or +1 it or something. There are an awful lot of people who are scared off relic thinking they HAVE to spend a billion gil on it, or those that do spend a ton of cash and hate it for it.

Yeah. I actually had a IV crit and det materia from leveling up back in 2013 in my retainer. Sold them both for 600k. I put 33crit 23 det 19 acc on my gae bolg, probably exact same set up on bravura. IV materia isnt that serious.

losing that extra det/crit from IVs but gaining some acc basically has no loss in your "best builds"

the acc gain from relic means you can use other armor with no acc and add the loss det/crit from a perfect relic

unless you are that hardcore gearing for fodder contents where no one gives a flying fuck

This ^^^^ (last 3 posts). Doing a 3 stat spread Yoichi Bow (acc/crit/det) with no IVs enables me to use poetic gloves as a part of my BiS for BRD. I'll gladly give up the 2-3 loss in crit and det for that on top of not spending millions of gil.

Tbh I notice a surprising number of people still doing hunts, persistent hunt parties in PF, hunt LSs still active, etc.

I have no idea why.

I think hunts are still the best way to gather Alexandrites if you're a masochist and doing a second zodiac weapon.

I've gained like 3k seals the past couple of days doing hunts. Just wanted daggers at first but discovered I actually enjoy doing hunts so I just hit them up during downtime or when a bunch of A ranks are gonna pop in a row. 3k soldiery, a bunch of blood-spattered logs (got 7 the past couple days) for if I need sands/oils and I've met some cool peeps doing it. If you're sat around waiting for them it's not the most efficient means of getting soldiery or anything, but for the amount of time you actually put in actively doing stuff they still give really good soldiery alone, if you're working on alex they're also the fastest means of doing so. Part of me is holding out for them adding new shit to the vendor in future too, at the very least Dark Knight/Astro/Machinist will probably get cool weapons there, since a lot of the current allied seal weapons have really nice designs for glamour. Maybe there's a miniscule chance they'll throw in the ability to buy Carbontwine/coat at some point too, since they made Sands and Oils available.
