About how long does it take to get 2k light? I'm gonna be starting nexus this weekend.

depends on what you do

Exemple Garuda (lets say 4min)

so 4min for 4 lights would mean 500 fights

500 fights @ 2.5-3.5m each every 2 hour window; Iffy isnt too bad either and can be done relatively fast as well. So farm ruda/iffy, if the windows are good and you no-life it you could get it as fast as a couple of days.

There is also Cape Westwind, 1 light under 1minute, but not a lot of people are willin to do this since its so god damned tedious.

Also @vrumpt, hit up T4 if you see it in bonus. It's not as efficient as Garuda HM, but it's both a break from the tedium and a way to make a little extra gil.

It took me about 3 weeks to farm 2000 lights. I kept light farming as a priority, but I did take time away from it to do other things.

On the topic of lights, does anyone know if DD/AV give light when queued for individually (not through low level roulette)?

In case this is unclear, you still get light if you do roulette, it just isn't any different (I think?) as if you had queued for that dungeon normally.

Yes, DD/AV give light. Pretty sure all lowbie dungeons do, but I can't say I've experimented with dungeons outside of those two. I've been farming light with my WAR Novus while I work on the Zodiac items for my BRD+WAR upgrades.

100% sure roulette is indifferent to light. Only dungeons matter and shuffle bonus at the usual intervals. All <50 dungeons give the same light rating as EX dungeons: Brilliant/Blinding.

Got super lucky last night and got my DD item in one try... which is good because it ended up being a 70 minute run. I swear our healer was high or drunk the whole time and would wander off like Billy in Family Circus.

Fuck RNG quests seriously. Couldn't have just made it require 2 or 3 runs of each?

I'm actually ok with the RNG because I'm used to Korean MMOs with much worse RNG (I'm looking at you f(*$&(#(& Hot Heart of Magic in Aion). That said I ran Snowcloak and Halatali HM non stop after work last night with no drops ;-; But as a result I'm only 1000 sol away now from my last soldiery requirement :D
