I can only hope the Mahatmas are purchased via some kind of currency (GC/Hunt seals, Poetics, Soldiary, etc) rather than a low RNG drop.

Considering Mahatma isn't an item added in this update, I'm going to assume "affixing Mahatma" is the same shit as soulglazing. There are two quests, I'd assume the first one is some stupid stuff for affixing Mahatma, the other one is the weapon itself.

Who knows though. Hopefully the lights are at least a different system, I wouldn't mind if we could get more lights from doing certain content. (Like EX Garuda giving 10x more than HM Garuda or something.)

Here's my guess, at the risk of embarrassing myself by being horribly wrong instead of waiting 3 hours to see:

Take 1 normal atma.
Apply voodoo magic bullshit to it that makes it gather lights.
Obtain an arbitrary amount of lights (1000?).
Use lights to transmute it into mahatma and apply to your weapon for a small amount of stat gain a la atma->animus stage.
Repeat 11 more times.

It would essentially combine the concepts of the 3 previous major upgrade steps into one.

It will be much like the light system of Novus -> Nexus. However there was a placeholder header prompt text called "cmndefrelicweapon060magiciteshop" as well prior to this patch (2.5A), so a shop of sort might be involved too. If nothing else, I know exactly where to look once the patch hits and is downloaded.
