Would be nice if they cleaned up Jalzahn's interface though so it didn't look band-aided in.

You bring him a weapon to upgrade, he should know to automatically check your inventory to see if any shit is ready for an upgrade and prompt any applicable weapons, not have you go through a vertical list of zodiac weapon tiers and then picking the one you need to upgrade manually.

so much this. jalzahn is a disaster. i guess they were unable to modify a weapon when it was equipped for whatever reason, but the rest of the UI for dealing with him is reminiscent of xi's terrible menuing.

Catching up on the relic quest (late to the party, I know)...

I accidentally melded a stat on my sword (+3) that I don't want. I've read a couple guides regarding the re-meld, but I'd like some clarification...
I have to buy a new scroll, the NPC will transfer all my stats to the new scroll (I understand this) and then I go to the NPC in Black Brush and click the removal process...

Do I have to re-farm the alex to meld the new stats with? Ie, I'll have to farm an additional 3 alex. Assuming I do

Like my Curtana Nexus is ACC +13 Crit +24 and Det +17
Nexus Shield is lolparry10 and Acc 12

To be clear, you still need to turn it in after you're done to actually get the upgrade.

I turned in my Gae Bolg Atma for animus (meaning i did all of my books and now it is time for sphere scroll). The help message after turning in the Atma spear was "Visit Mor Dhona and battle various enemies. After completing all of the objectives, return to Jalzahn to upgrade your weapon." That was the system text while my character was holding up the animus spear lol.

Yah lights are tedious, but if you are willing to throw your soul into it you can do it in like a week.

I'm two weeks and 1 day in, I should be done friday barring any real life drama.

Just spam ST and lot everything, then trade the gear in for seals and buy 4x bombard cores with it. They are 20k seals each and you need four for next stage.

I am SO GLAD someone from my FC told me that.

edit: it's 84 ST runs if you don't get any lights from anywhere else, keep in mind that's 8400 soldiery if you don't get any new people bonus, which you will. I normally get 1 new person bonus out of 4 runs. So you're gonna get like 10,000 soldiery in the process too. Unfortunately if you have never done before like me, you can't buy the 4x 1600 soldiery item you need next phase too.

Light step is nice simply due to the fact you can do whatever the hell you want, it's not bad at all since the recent nerf. If you're not in a rush it'll just happen, if you are you can grind it out by making use of good bonus windows in a few days. I did 800 lights in one day when I felt like going hard on it and that wasn't particularly efficient grinding either, just doing random primals that were in bonus or T4 (was good money at the time). Should be able to get it done in like a week pretty easily with more casual play if you're actually making use of decent bonus windows that are up.

What's the generally accepted layout for augmenting the whm weapon during the Alexandrite phase?

PIE, spell speed for the purest WHMs

Choose a cool and funky combo of PIE, spellspeed, and DET to your liking. Beautiful part of WHM is how insignificant your secondaries are in your actual performance!

I would consider PIE for WHM far more significant than the vast majority of secondary stats for most jobs.
