Relic / Atma / Zodiac / Novus / Nexus Weapon information

Man, I wish I could run on that little sleep. I've been farming in my free time and I'm also still on the Atma stage as well (9/12). I could probably be done with the Atma stage if it weren't for FC LeviEx/OldCoilFarm/NewCoilFailing/TeachScrubsCoil1NowThatWeCanHelpThem/etc.

I was pretty stoked that I got four atmas last night

...... but two of them were duplicates (Lion/Crab) that I got while doing daily beastmen quests. I guess it makes the next weapon that much faster though.

Anyone know if you can get Atma drops with the Atma/Animus weapon? It might be nice to collect them to Atma something else for shits 'n' giggles if I happen to be running through one of the zones, but less so if I have to switch over to another Zenith job.

In general it seems to me that the most efficient way to get an animus weapon is to use the zenith weapon for a job you don't really care about but that will still perform well in FATEs.

Bad example - I'm probably going to upgrade my Thyrus first, but I'm getting my Atmas on BLM.

Since I'm not grinding out a weapon but just taking it in stride, I expect that by the time the missus and I are ready to turn a weapon to an Atma Relic, I'll probably have 6-7 of one of the other Atmas built up by then (likely Scorpion at the rate things are going, I have three so far and the missus has none).

I think Google translate is sufficient for deciphering that. It looks like they're saying that you can only get each specific Atma in certain 1-hour time windows (Eorzea time, presumably?), on top of the additional low drop rate.

That would be pretty shitty if they implemented it that way. Assuming an Eorzean day is one hour (that's not exact, but it's close), that would mean you only have a 2.5-minute window twice an hour (so 5 minutes per hour, total) in order to obtain each Atma. It's easy to spend more than 2.5 minutes in a single FATE, let alone that porting around to each zone every couple minutes would be a giant pain in the ass.

That said, I'll try to take note of the time (both real, and Eorzean), when I get my remaining drops.

I haven't looked at the post or translated it but maybe he means per atma type. Goat can only be obtained during xx : xx time, etc. I know for a fact I got mine at many different times, Eorzean and RL.

I got Atma of the Ram right at 8am EST this morning if someone wants to back into what time that was for the server/game time and see if it matches.

9/12 the RNG is not in my favor considering I was 8/12 on Sunday and don't do much else besides Fate for 3-4 hours an night and sometimes get an additional hour in the mornings.

I've been in parties where we all finished within 10 or so FATEs and I've been in parties where we ran around for hours with nothing, maybe 1 person getting an Atma. Without a big data sample of clocked times it going to hard to look past RNG.

Everything seems like RNG until you actually have the data in front of you. I mean...it's still probably RNG, but worth getting some numbers just in case.

SE's also been known to do their "random" number generating shit in weird ways - oddly predictable, manipulable ways. Not necessarily in XIV, just in general.

they pretty much outright said that they wanted to make the new relic upgrades dependent on "items with a very low droprate", and I think they even mentioned that it was because "the players don't like the route we're taking, so we're going to change!", but I may be misremembering that second part.
