I tried it and got 4 atmas in a row. Went to the right zone at the right server time and got my atma within 3-5 fates each time. And this after days of farming with nothing.

So... server time or JP time then? Hearing so many 'it's local/jp/server time' theories. Buttons up there did his during server time.. Sho during JP time.

Adding this to my post so I don't have to hit back.
No Atma of the archer for me. /sadface.
However, anything that might increase the drop rate I'm in favor of. Anything to make the Atma portion less enraging.
Yes there are 24 hours in a day, thanks, it doesn't make having a fixed schedule any less daft. Surely you would run it off something asynchronous like the game clock?you know there are 2 9:00s right?
Casually farming FATE's from 2.1 to 2.16: 1 Atma
Casually farming FATE's since 2.16: 3 Atma
I'm more inclined to suggest they've ninja'd the drop rate. Either that or I've just been WAY more lucky post 2.16.
The two I got yesterday don't fit the timings
Scorpion: between 9-10PM JP time
Lion: between 1-2PM JP time
Atma of the Water Bearer @ 3:32AM Server Time. 3 FATEs
No Archer here either during the 10am hour.
Just an aside:
It seems you can change the server time & local time that's displayed in game by changing your computer's internal clock. I had to shift mine from forward an hour after reading Proth's post. You have to fully shut down and restart the client for it to take effect.
So is server time more or less confirmed as the proper time? or is it JP time? D: Still confused on that.
This seems to claim that it's local time, which I find hard to believe since you could easily game the system that way, but I'll try hitting up N. Shroud in 5 minutes (10PM Central) and see if I have any better luck than earlier.

Update: 1/1 Archer Atma, hmmm... Going to stay here to see if I keep getting more.
Update2: Haven't gotten any more in 4 more FATEs, but I told my wife to come in the zone and she went 1/1
We're doing the server time listings atm, all three of us, no luck so far.
So if it's local time.. three of us in diff time zones should go to three diff zones?
It would take some time and mass testing to see if anything of this holds weight. A proper translation would be needed too -- I'm sure Slycer will get to it in the morning. When the guy says local time, he might have meant "local" time for him, which is JST, him being Japanese. So from there, I'm just going about it like that. Local time might also be local for any person playing as well, something that could be very easily manipulated (changing internal computer clock).
This "theory" is effectively unconfirmable. It's random. Deal with it.
That's the thing, you can change the server time by changing your local time as well. Not sure what the server time is bound to since it's the case.
Even so, it doesn't hurt to entertain the thought process. If nothing else, it leads some sanity to a shitty process.
Got my last Atma of the CRAB @12:50pm JP time.
Got Atma of the Crab on my sixth FATE at 12:30AM EST. 2 other people shouted that they got it, as well, for whatever it's worth.
earlier when with 2 fc members did about 3-4 fates before had to move onto other things we didn't get drops. it's a nice placebo if it isn't real. keeps hopes up and motivated to move to different zones.
