So i'm finishing my last animus book w/ my gf. To know where we're getting at, we're only going to get novus casually (75 day bs), how hard would it be for a mnk/brd to solo these? Also, do we need to be our respective jobs w/ animus equipped? Like she can't switch to tank and i can't be brd?

I'm wondering if the Tier requirements change once you pass a certain level for the "off stat," for instance if I cap ACC on Shield (13) will it try to split my 9 parry among the 4 tiers, I may work on Parry until 9 then switch back to ACC while farming up Tier 4 accuracy

You can solo or play with friends

You can also be on any job to farm the maps

Only need to have animus equipped for Fates

It might be hard for a Monk to solo some of them, a choco might help I dont use one so I don't know their full capabilities.

It has potential to be rough going solo, depends on the mob you get. Like Neon said, choco will help. idk how much though as I lvl'd mine up as a dps and not healer so I'm unsure of their potential. If you went smn for these, they would be easy I bet. unconfirmed for myself, but iirc you only need novus to flag the quest but you can run the expert roulette any job or do the map as any job. Farming FATE requires you to have novus equipped though

Just a couple questions about this melding business.

so ima PLD... for arguments sake lets say I want to do determination/parry on both shield and sword.

I do the first few parry melds at 100% success rate (lets say 4). Cause I'm great at failing even with a 90% success rate, I follow my roots as a coward and switch to DET until that hits 90%(I like 4's). So now I have 8/31 for mi sword...

Now for the confusing part...

can I switch to crit, skillspeed, and acc materia melds to continue getting 100%rates (for next 4 of each, example) to be at 20/31 technically?
When I end up finishing all the remaining melds is it going to have all 5 stats? or do I straight up get to choose "I want Parry capped as main stat and Det capped as secondary" even though I have a skittles rainbow worth of melds happening in that scroll?

You can add up to 5 stats.

You get 1 stat point for every materia you meld onto the scroll. Your theoretical example will have "a skittles rainbow" worth of stats. Melded Det 4 times? Item has +4Det. Melded Parry 8 times? Item has +8 Parry. Melded Det 31 times (the max for Det on 2-handers)? Item has +31Det.

**This is, of course, pure speculation until someone actually finishes one of these things, but I'm pretty damn sure that's how it works because the numbers line up perfectly.

I'm thinking a similar thing with my Stardust Rod, although to truly avoid all IVs I'd have to do something like Det+23 Crit+33 SS+19 (since there's boatloads of Acc on the HA caster pieces), and that just seems odd to me, although I guess it would be most flexible in terms of future gear choices. Not sure if I should do that, just suck it up and do Det+31 Crit+44 (21 IVs 19 IVs) or compromise with Det+31 Crit+33 SS+11 (8 IVs).
