Sorry if too small, managed to capture the book glow
i think its freaking awesome, unless ur a lala?
yeah, for lalafell unless its something large (like a staff/spear etc) smaller things like a book, its hard to really see the glow effects compared to a larger character, where you can see various colors/sparkles from it + the trail it leaves when you move.
anyway, here's to hoping 2.3 possibly adds materia buying with GC's or something, the prices have gone into crazy mode... more so then 2.25 patch >.>
That is sweet, is that sch?
That must burn your hand when you try to summon a pet.
yea sorry, forgot to mention, thats SCH XD
took another one with axe

So people, for the most part, aren't doing 44crit/31det for Axe?
Been SBing like a madman, since might prices are 300k+ here. Was going to push through the 44crit/31det but maybe I'll look into some hybrid with acc.
I think if I had some retarded amount of gil I'd do it, but am not sure right now. Got some time to think about it yet.
It rather baffles my mind that you'd do WAR Novus without putting any Parry on it. If you're making the Novus, it's probably your main job. If it's your main job, you're probably tanking a lot. If you're tanking a lot, why aren't you putting Parry on it?
Yes, H.A. axe is better for tanking, but guess what? It's also better for DPSing too (2DMG 3STR > 44Crit/31Det, right?), so I don't understand that argument at all. I'm all for an explanation as to why you'd do full DPS stats on your axe, but right now I'm just not seeing it. I mean, yeah, once you outgear the content the tanking stats aren't as necessary, but if you're using to the tackle the challenges of the future, don't you want some tanking stats?
My current thought is to do Parry to the mid-30s, a hefty chunk of Det, and some acc.
No point putting parry on stuff that I already tank in an axe without parry. Once I get HA I'll use that instead of novus, not gonna make an axe that's more defensive than the one I use now when I'm not dying as it is.
I'm currently sitting here DFing Turn 4 in a bunch of melded HQ i70 I just made trying to turn out some quicker TIV materia. If my luck on Aim / Might IV continues I may pussy out with a bit of ACC.
Edit: I'm also STR spec and tank everything but solo tank T8 in full STR accessories. Parry can lick my balls.
You'd only put huge Parry on it if you don't really get the WAR meta at this point in the game or you're just stuck in some prefab notion that a tank should always consider Parry first and foremost regardless of other factors.
Well for my case, i will almost never have the chance to get sword and axe anyway even tho tanking is/was my main job.
JPs all like to tank too much so im forced to main SMN/BLM now but i still love to tank so i made novus. As long you get all 75 stats on novus, it should be good even even if its hybrid.
At end of day you just wanna make sure you cap acc, and get the D from a 110 weapon if you arent getting a HA axe.
being said.... dont go 10 on each stats and be too cheap lol. avoiding IV for other sidegrade is fine, since you are prolly benefitting from other sec stats, unless you did skill speed and PIE(seriously still dont know why they put it there for axe) for some god known reason.....
right now, pushing through determination from 24 to 31 is going to cost 2-4 million depending on luck at last few infusions.....Not sure if wise for a 110 weapon. might as well buy a house in 2.3 XD
Well, I was going to reply that Sath's advice is perhaps not for the general public, since he's clearly playing with some top-notch healers (I'm full-VIT spec'd and if I put on my STR accessories over my i70 melded stuff in T7 *just to tank adds*, the healers will bitch and/or I'll end up dead), but then I read Grey's comment and got just plain confused.
I get that the point is to prioritize damage beyond whatever tanking stats you need, but it's nigh impossible to determine how much tanking stats you'll need soooooooooooooooo
I guess your argument for a full-DPS axe is that we're already overgeared for the current set of content, and once new content comes out, there'll be new weapons to supplement tanking if we need 'em anyway...?
Your first problem is you have the WAR instead of the PLD picking up T7 adds.
Putting Crit/Det means you don't want to future-proof the weapon with Acc and you are ok with keeping those stats as the weapon continues to be upgraded. For myself, I probably would have done Acc/Det if I was bothering with novus since I did run into acc issues for a bit as I managed to only get the drops without acc on it first. My gear still can't support a weapon without acc on it and I don't feel like spending sands to sidegrade i110 just yet.
Perhaps not the best place for this discussion, but I'm hoping you can summarize this in a single post. I don't see a benefit of using one over the other for either role in T7. We simply chose me for the OT because I had hybrid accessories (VIT-melded i70 STR/DEX accessories) and the PLD didn't.
