Has anyone tested to see if they fixed the bug that they mentioned the other day about Curtana Novus not being able to get Alexandrites from FATEs?

i have done all my 92 alex with war + chocobo. all type of mobs etc etc etc downed with 3 mins to spare

i dont see how much fun it should or can be.

lets face it, if they made it more "challenging" people are still gotta QQ anyway.....infact even worse than it already is

A friend of mine definitely got an Alex from a fate within the last 4ish days. I don't know when that bug/fix was, but I remember him saying something previously about doing 300+ fates and not getting one.

It's just as Codek has mentioned. Basically, this only applies to paladins who have upgraded their Curtana Animus to Curtana Novus and are trying to upgrade their Holy Shield.

Also, as a side note just to debunk any rumors floating around, equipping both Curtana Animus and Holy Shield Animus at the same time will not improve the drop rate of Alexandrite from FATEs. Similarly, if you equip Curtana Animus and Holy Shield Zenith you will only receive alexandrite as a drop; you will not receive both atma and alexandrite.

So either

1) The bug makes it lower to get a drop (doub it)
2) Bug was fixed without camate knowing? (possible)
3) Your friend did'nt had Curtana Novus but Curtana Animus

Best way to go about it would have been to make them more challenging but let you retry if you fail. I think we'd all like some solo fights that aren't faceroll. Though it kinda defeats the point if you can just bring a party with you. I'm hoping the hunts they're bringing in 2.3 are this kind of content.

Also you've done 92 alex? That's some dedication.

If you've just been doing your daily quest every day, you're already 1/4 of the way to the Alex you need.

I'm back up to 9 for my second one just doing dailies and buying maps from random mythology I've gotten along the way..

The thought of how much faster it's going to be when daily hunts come about is kinda funny. It'll be just as quick as the Animus stage with a little effort.

Given how solid most of Yoshida's decisions have been, I am still giving the whole Atma thing the benefit of the doubt.

As others have said, it just feels so stupid to push lv.50 players into grinding countless low level FATEs that - I don't know - maybe players are not behaving as intended.
Or maybe they just screwed up and we'll have some sort of fix incoming.

Players are botting the shit out of Alexandrite farming. I've been doing Summerford Farms area in my free time. The same 3 players are always there. 7am before work, midnight before bed, 6pm after work you name it they are there going strong. At first I thought they were just no lifeing it but today I caught them get unsynced during the lost lamb lvl 2 fight. I was killing the spawns on the edge of the Fate circle which cause them to unsync. They just stood there constantly drawing their weapons and putting them back down.

The impressive thing is they go up and down the stairs of the cliff. After the fates they just stand still but as soon as one pops they hop on their birds and off they go.

So where do I get this bot!? lol

LOL I've been wondering the same thing since seeing a certain player botting the With One Eye Open FATE in Northern Thanalan. Rotation is always the same, never moves out of AoEs, etc. Stands in the same spot all the time. Wonder how many he's gotten doing that shit.

I see a lot of bots wondering also, they just soorta... randomly hit things if it hits them also.

As for dodging stuff, on SCH I don't bother, its not like the stuff does enough to matter >.> Takes about 10 mobs to overcome eos's healing ability, even then takes awhile. Also the paralyze, only lands like 3 times, 4th+ -> for like 1min, your immune to it. Pretty much the only thing on N thanalan I dodge on SCH, is the terrify from the succubus in DD and the petrify from the peistes, nothing else matters (same for bombs, would take about 10+ bomb explosions for it to do more then eos can heal)

Toss few dots > someone else comes > alt tab and watch/browse stuff (especially if I got initial claim).

Google about 2 words, its very simple to find.. a ton of them. SE hasn't done anything to them ;/ Some even have a video of how they work, it kind of makes it easier to identify them by their behavior. (some do dodge stuff by default from the looks of it)

I blame bots for making alexnadrites having insanely low drop rate chance (and atmas), speaking of atmas... need to farm them up sometime for ninja...

I only noticed this when the boss suddenly left everyone on th hate list and rushed towards the edge of the fate circle. There I saw the dude coming back. Apparently the boss went to him to nuke or something, lost hate during the process, became immune and returned to full HP.

may or may not be a bot, you don't exactly have to do an obscene amount to a boss fate at get gold.
Infact, you can get a gold from...

1. Claiming boss + adds as it spawns (solo, won't work grouped)
2. Stay till imps die
3. Leave after boss drops to about 85%-90% hp
4. Get gold

you can do 0 damage/0 healing in the process for gold, can just afk the entire time after that claim if no other fates up.

I bet people use to think I was a bot for at atma farming. Afked by a fast poping fate with titan out. When I saw him move I'd throw out a few aoes his 2hr and shadow flare. Then go back to watching TV or something.

Not going to lie I thought about building a simple bot that just did a ruin on anything titan attacked.

Even if I am against bots myself I'd not either, this grind is so ridiculous that I can understand the use of it.

But you alway get that kind of hypocrit ppl who will report them for the sake of a fake moral, but only cause they're butthurt that they can't use a bot themselve lol.
