I think skill speed gets a bad rap. Outside of t8, where you can just have a non ss set up, I find it pretty good. Especially if it tightens up your rotations and aligns buffs better.

BRD has no "rotations" and has the highest TP consumption of any job.
Never mind, with bard sure. All they want is crit anyway since it is the only class in the game that actually uses a secondary. Still what fights have you been tp starved as a bard? (minus t8)
BRD's TP consumption is only higher than other jobs on small groups where they're putting multiple sets of dots up, but none of the jobs are radically different. Their pure single target is less expensive than DRG.
In pretty much any given 8 GCDs, BRD is going to use 2 80tp dots, 70tp straight shot, 5 60tp heavy shots for 530 TP expenditure. DRG is going to use 2 of their 70-60-60 combos, 70tp heavy thrust, 90tp phlebotomize for 540 TP expenditure.
MNKs consumption is less straightforward to calculate. 8 BRD/DRG GCDs is 9.4 GCDs for them with GL3 up. There's a lot of debate about the worth of Touch of Death (and by extension, Fracture), but if you are using it, it's about once every 15th GCD, so let's clean it up by saying it's every 16th, which is 5 60-50-50 combos and an 80 for 55 tp/GCD average. 9.4 GCDs * 55 TP/GCD is 517.
Edit: To the above, the biggest problem with skill speed in general is that you do better damage for a while but then floor yourself faster. You're trading very consistent increases in damage for more hits doing less damage in a shorter amount of time, then potentially running out of TP and being unable to do anything. It also doesn't scale with your dots and off-GCD abilities, which is why it's more useful on some classes than others. Crit will always be king on BRD because of its double scaling with River of Blood procs, and spell speed will always be garbage on SMN because it does nothing for your pet and your DPS is so heavily skewed towards dots.
Yeah Bard and Smn for sure have no reason to worry about it. But for monk and drg a lot of fights I never bottom out. Especially with the nature of bosses leaving for a little or phase changes and what not. I just think people keep saying "have running out of TP" but this is almost never the nature of fights.
So do you run out of TP in those fights? I am just trying to show that TP is not always an issue so if peoples main concern with SS is "lol tp gone" that is not really always the case. For me I have acc gear sets and primal gear sets so if every other fight in the game is a non issue for TP but t8...well you see where Im going. It's not really a big deal, or a deal at all just that I think people dismiss SS entirely when its not that bad. Plus I am just thinking about that passive tp regen ability "some class is getting" and if it holds up, then stacking SS would almost be the best bet.
I will run out of TP in t6, t8 and p4 of t9 as brd even with invig on perfect usage (and even with extensive paeon usage in t8). Maybe t7 too but my group plays it safe so it's rarely an issue. 498 Sks. Send help please.
Any wars with a novus? I was wondering did some of you went Parry>Acc?
General consensus over here seems to be full Det w/ Acc+Crit. I'll probably be doing an even spread of Det/Acc/Parry. Still debating between the crit and parry, though no one will likely notice a difference ever either way.
Might just be my group but we specifically don't use Selene in T8 because it makes us need "too much" Paeon, according to our BRDs anyways.
I'm just doing full det/acc.
Drops gonna drop. Titan HM has been out for how long? And between trials, helping out with friends, and whatever else, I have never laid eyes on the shield. Nothing in this game is guaranteed unless it's purchased.
Anyone have any guesses as to whether you'll need to actually be on Novus to get Alexandrite from hunts?
I'm 2/9 on books right now but don't want to lose out.
