You "will" need at least bronze for an atma, but as mentioned earlier, it is basically unconfirmable if its lower chances or not (I sure as hell not testing to find out the %'s). If its nearly ending fate, may as well go to another, as groups tend to obliterate mobs very quickly.
Also about leves, as my earlier detailed post mentioned, some leves are from GC, its best to look them up on xivdb, and see what GC/leve quest gives it from a certain location as to reduce headache.
oh and hope your a decent solo class, because you will get SOLO boss fates randomly from your relic book quests, and their fates in zones usually no one does (no atma). For instance corethas 4 winds (4 bosses) in 13min, is pretty hard solo![]()
Caveat to this: as long as you are in the zone when the fate ends, you'll get credit. This means that if you die, HP, and teleport back, you still get credit. More importantly, in some areas its faster to teleport to a neighboring zone and run back than it is to run from end to end. So I'll hit 1 or 2 fates on the east side of the bentbranch zone, then teleport to old grid, use the white wolf gate port, and get back into the zone on the west side before the first fates finish. You'll get full rewards from all of them. Also, fuck that zone. I'm in the hundreds of fates so far; so much for 1%.
Got my 12th one last night. So with all the hours added up it looks like this broken down based on the times I recorded:
Atma of Fish: 10 hours
Atma of Bull: 7 hours
Atma of Twins: 5 hours
Atma of Scales: 4 hours
Atma of Crab: 3 hours
Atma of Goat: 2 hours
Atma of Archer: 2 hours
Atma of Ram: 1 1/2 hours
Atma of Water: 1 hour
Atma of the Maiden: 30 mins
Atma of Lion: 30 mins
Atma of Scorpion: 30 mins
So it was about 37ish hours of pure atma farming from Thursday evening, over the weekend, to last night when I finally got the last one (atma of Twins). I did not account the breaks I took running coil and HM dungeons.
So the best was getting two in one hour and the worst was the 10 grind in lower la noscea as I stated in a previous post.
So it RNG can very so I hope this helps with people how might be a little discouraged after getting nothing for hours of FATE grinding.
THIS fucking grind...
Which is infinitely more of a challenge than trying to fight boredom and RNG in FATEs that people zerg down so fast the biggest hurdle is getting there in time.
I'd say we have different opinions on what constitutes "challenge" in a video game, I don't consider a challenge of patience to be a valid one.
4hrs last night and an hour before work in Brentbranch with nothing to show for it ><
I got my last Atma with my Bird out, but I'm about to just solo these incase there is some glitch. 3/12 still....
Farmed 3 hours Friday night, 2 hours saturday afternoon, 2 hours Sunday night, and 2 hours last night...
0/12 atma. Yea....
35 hours, six ATMA. This grind is horribly sucky.
So how many chocobo ranks are people getting on their FATE grinds?
Atma comes with rank 10 bird?
I don't really mind the myth grind to be honest, I'm 100 myth away from the second book and I barely done any "myth farm" per se, most of them are from capping soldiery or farming coil to gear up second jobs.
You'll eventually get to 13500 just by capping weekly and doing some other stuff, everything gives myth, albeit in low amount, little by little you'll get there without noticing.
I thought fates didn't reward chocobos any experience only the monsters that you kill.. otherwise getting a bird to rank 10 would be pretty much a breeze for someone like myself that enjoys grinding, that and my bird is Lv.8 right now :D.. so if they can get exp from fates I'll be kinda bitter.
