That route C doesn't look all that bad, and I've love to avoid melding tier 4s, I have the money for it, its just I would prefer to save as much as I can. Might 4s were going for 850k each on Levia few days ago, current down to 550k now, with Aim 4s at 340k. I'm personally holding onto all my alex as well until I finally decide, looking at options till then, though I have this feeling by the time I do hit 75 alex, HA staff will finally drop but I'd still want my Novus of course to upgrade later.
C is fine especially because all secondaries are more or less equal/good as BLM. It's like the only DPS job where speed is unarguably not-terrible.
For the record, my Stardust Rod Novus is done now. Ended up being Pie+7 Crit+22 Det+24 SpS+22 at a total cost of around 1M including breakage, not counting the lone Det IV materia I had lying about from some main story quest. It'd be quite a bit more to build it now; materia costs have skyrocketed. (I bought mine in the gap between the initial rush and the time when the "casuals" would be getting around to the Novus part.)
If you are going to put Piety anywhere, the weapon is the place to do it, as you're trading off 1 Pie for 1 Crit/Det/SpS rather than the very unfavorable 1 Pie for 1 Int.
Also, Crit IV materia were 350K-ish yesterday on Excalibur, and Det IV were about 425K. At least in my book, IVs are definitely not worth their cost for the very tiny gains one secondary stat might offer over another.
Agree on the gains to gil. I'm sitting at about 50 unused Alexs atm cuz I've used a lot of my PLT I accrued this last year to go on vacations and out of town so i'm pretty far behind lol. hoping to finish by this weekend if I can grind fast enough
Went crit 44 pie 31 on Thyrus Novus. SE seems to release more SS based weapons for WHM, so this gives me the option of a separate build, if not just mixing and matching for future content. And if I end up not being happy later on, SE said the option to 'reset' your novus will be added later.
with alex being so easy to get now, the reset process prolly means you need to use alex
tbh any sec stats that helps your job isnt big of a deal if you max it or not........just use the alex on another weapon if it does require alex to reset stats
Atm you cannot reset stats
You have to buy the NQ version at the salvager then just reupgrade to zenith atma etc
Yes, atm you cannot reset. It was stated in the patch notes that the reset option would be added later (unless you go the salvager route suggested). So after all the long debates, you're not locked into a choice that you regret.
What are summoners doing for their novus? I was thinking of maxing det/crit myself, although its rather pricy, haha.
yeah SMN novus is very expensive, because there's really no other option.
I regret not sticking 1 PIE into my BLM Novus to reach that magical 251 value. Had that situation where I'm just short of an extra Fire on quite a few occasions since finishing it. I'm hoping that future upgrades will let you add whatever stats to it, since a higher ilevel weapon will require extra secondary stats. So I can fix it then rather than via an expensive reset.
As for stats I decided to cap CRIT and DET tier 3s and put the rest into SS. I didn't want to touch tier 4s, yet all that materia still cost close to 2 million.
I'm debating going something like 20acc/25crit/30det on SMN novus, but I already have Book of Spades and making something for when ACC reqs go up.
So I'm slowly finishing my Atma books on SCH, what I should be prepared to meld when I'm finally done?
I hear 44 crit 31(40) accuracy is a great option for dat deeps.
So what do White Mages generally meld on their weapon?
I'm going with max det & pie and banging the rest into SS.
Worth noting that the cross-game special FATEs are on track for the next several weeks XI => XIII => DQ. They are popular, have a short respawn time (independent of other FATEs?), and always occur in the same place in their respective zones. Shanttoto even has 2 consecutive FATEs.
In other words, if you were on the fence about another set of atma...
Same page, I just said screw it and started my BLM Atma since I have 40 Alex sitting around. The only thing is that with the myth fountain being dried up it's going to take significantly longer than pre 2.35
Will weathered weapons be like mythics and continue upgrades or is 110 it for them?
