Ok so didn't they say somewhere if you clear the special missions then you skip ahead to the new parts in the story of the new game? But I guess if you're importing clear data from the original game then that isn't an issue anyway.

Basically I will buy this game as long as I keep my character progress from the first game and don't have to repeat all the missions.

Demo coming March 25th

The demo consists of two distinct game modes. The first is an “introductory mode” comprised of the first two chapters of the game, including the edit mode where players can create and customize their own Slayer, and equip them with one of three new weapon types (naginata, club, and rifle).

The second section is a series of “special missions” specifically designed for the demo and set at a very high difficulty level. These may be too difficult for those who have not played the original Toukiden. But the full version of the game will increase the difficulty of missions in a much more gradual manner, Koei Tecmo assures.

Clearing every mission will let players start playing the game from Chapter 8, where the Kiwami portion of Toukiden: Kiwami begins, as well as unlock various special features and items that can be carried over to the full game.

Also in the demo you’ll be able to battle a few of the game’s brand new Oni types.

I suspect that isn't referring to the full game but rather that taste of Ch. 8 you get from doing the special missions in the demo.

So... I got the game today and did one infinite mission. Killed 40x large oni before I felt like doing something else for a while. By the time all ways said and done I gained about 500k Haku total.

With the costs and such being lowered in Kiwami, that's pretty ridiculous cash. Feels weird to be sitting at 1.5mil haku even though I was just doing a fair bit of forging just before Kiwami came out. Also, gonna go to bed now but I just cleared Chapter 9 and I've got to say that the Kiwami story missions have been pretty fun to go through so far.

Made a new Bow build today. I wanted to try something different so I came up with a SPC setup.
Its fun... its also good. Took it online and outdid SPT Rifle and PLN Rifle friends. Good times.

The Kiwami story was pretty damn decent.

Wish I could've picked up where I left off before I stopped playing AoD, but oh well, wasn't able to get my AoD copy again in time so started fresh again and its actually not bad. For once, I am actually trying out different weapons, something I didn't do in AoD and stuck with knives the whole game. This time around I've taken interest in Bow, Longsword, and CnS, and I love playing all 3, on top of playing knives still. I plan to try Naginata next, really hoping I like it so I can have a 5th weapon to play with to add more variety to the game for me. Gauntlets are definitely a weapon I know I won't be touching, as well as Rifile, despite those being 2 of the highest dps weapons, which just leaves the mace which I intend to try out sometime after the Naginata. If there ever comes a point though, I may try Rifle and see how well I can play it, but for most part, it just doesn't interest me too much sadly.

Oh shit, I actually forgot the spear existed, dunno how I feel about that weapon either, seems to be the main weapon no one plays since I rarely saw any talk about spear play.

I really love how improved the AI is compared to AoD as well. Gonna try to hit chap 7 today asap so I can get some of the Mitama I need for some of my builds, and working on getting the the characters' weapons. Not looking forward to farming Shadow Soul and Umprapods again though.

There is a category in the online section called "Special Missions" which were originally DLC for Age of Demons; they had a really high probability of Shadow Soul and Umbrapod spawning which should make obtaining those mitama/slayer record items less of a ball ache, providing the increased spawn rate is still present.

No need to worry, they seem to appear without fail after every 5 oni kills in infinite missions.

Is it worth grinding to get all of the bonuses from completing the demo? I have the item (hat?) from the normal missions and one soul steel so far

Also how are people managing their inventory once you hit 500/500? I feel like as soon as I start selling monster parts I'm going to need them...
