I didn't know it could expand further, hence asking the question. I've already sold stuff I had multiple stacks of.

The chest goes up to at least 1400 slots
ok so I just have to get 3 Edax Hornbits... great...
I should open some more of my phases then, was kinda waiting for a few friends so we could do them together but I guess it won't hurt to be a bit further ahead, glad they're less annoying now for sure. I'm guessing infinite missions open up in chap8+
I couldn't say. I imported from AoD and had them immediately afaik
So I decided to pick this up today based on what I saw. So far still playing around with weapons and what fits for me. Anything I should know beforehand as I dive into this thing? This is my first Toukiden ever but I've played MH so I have some off-hand experience.
the game does a good job of pacing and explaining things as you go. just enjoy, nothing I can think of I wish I had known ahead of time
For those of you who got it, is this game worth 60 bucks - assuming you're a DW/MH style game fan?
If you're a fan of both series absolutely. It's effectively a mash-up off the two, with MH style gear collection/big monster fights paired up to DW-ish fast paced (bordering on button mashing with some weapons) combat.
Yo Chari, I gave the Naginata a spin last night, and since I assume you're more knowledgeable about this shit, is a SPD Vigor spamming build viable? Rocking Vigor Link, Nimble, Reduce, Wraith, and Destroy. Expert Destroyer, Swiftness, and Agility Dual to fill in the gaps.
SPD Vigor spamming for Naginata? Not only is it viable, its extremely good.
I'd go for high precision and make sure Heroes' Rally is in there for any single Oni missions so you can spam the hell out of Vigor but its solid on multiple Oni missions even without it since you want to space out your uses anyway (Unless you have a smart LCK player around)
Also, there's a SPD mitama (forgot her name, I'd check but I have Bloodborne in the PS4 right now) whose ULT skill is Energy+ (Accuracy). You want her.
If you couldn't guess, that's extra precision with Energy up.
I'm rocking the Petros one atm, since I ended up with 50 million mats from that fight while farming the earthshredder spikes for the rifle.
I don't have Heroes Rally in that build atm, but outside of atk and pln mitamas I haven't maxed out too many of them.
Speaking of pln, Rifle and Plunder is so damn entertaining. It's exceedingly brain dead on any fight where a lock on point is centered on any easy to target node, but breaking every single limb in a mob in the first 2 or 3 minutes is just satisfying.
plunder, lol.
The mitama I was trying to remember the name of is Chiba Sanako, btw. Get her if you do SPD pretty much anything, lol.
Are Mitama from Vanilla still on the same mobs/locations?
I'm actually not sure about that, I would guess so though.
If anyone was like me and didn't use DEF in AoD because there didn't seem to be any really good way to use it and not kill at the pace of a snail... check this DEF build I've got here.
Lady Kaguya
Taunt+ (Amity)
Protection (Lv. 3)
Stone Wall
ULT: Exuberance
Taira no Tomomori
Introspection
Shield+ (Link)
Taunt+ (Damage)
ULT: Taunt+ (Assist)
Ashikaga Takauji
DEF Master (Resist)
Tolerace (Lv. 3)
DEF Master (Protect)
ULT: Exuberance
Triple Set (Defense)
I recommend a set like Warped Horizon (high def and increases element def). Unless you're super confident in your play you will want them for your damage because you have two mitama with Exuberance.
I feel this set works best with weapons that don't rely on having a ton of focus most of the time such as Spear or Club.
Things to note: Since your main damage skill is taunt, you'll want to get good at reading the enemies... this set is a great way to learn all of the Oni. You won't take tons of damage so you can take your time and learn but you get your best damage by having full HP so you'll always be wanting to learn how to avoid everything even though you can take a hit.
You are immune to all status effects and you shrug off nearly every hit so sometimes taking a hit for the sake of not losing positioning or getting off a charged hit that you KNOW you'll take damage right after isn't always so bad. You just have to know when and when not to do this.
Also, keep in mind that barrier lets you do whatever you want with your weapon (Go get those 9 stacks, son!) for a bit. Go wild.
Though you 'can' spam shield, I find that its best to stick to taunt mainly and use shield when you want some quick damage like on a downed opponent or before a Unified Destroyer (yes, taunt+ damage will spend the gauge buffing these too).
If you're a clubber or a spearguy, I guarantee you'll have some fun with this build. You might even be able to improve on it. Its just a little something I came up with on the fly while spending tons of haku leveling up random mitama.
Skills highlighted in this color are what make the build work.
I will add a note to the above build:
Do not do this with halfway competent ranged. Something about how the game is tuned means half of the time, the oni will rip away from your taunts to go chase them down, which takes away from the damage you could be pouring on. That, or get your ranged to stay in a bit closer than what is ultra comfortable, so you're not running for the entire fight.
Nah, the DEF build was absolutely fine. It was playing any melee without taunt that was stupid.
I'm almost certain that Oni have hard coded priorities for ranged characters, they even broke off for Horo a few times. That aside, I think just using ATK abilities has something to do with it as well (with no regard to the damage they do). Playing with you was the first time I had Oni just completely ignore just about everything I was doing (except on this DEF build)... even with other people using more damaging setups, but they weren't ATK type.
tl;dr: Ignore the above note.
WAIT TIL I GET A WEAPON THAT ACTUALLY DOES DAMAGE, NIGGA, IT'LL BE FFXI ALL OVER AGAIN
So did you guys all give up on this game or....?
