I agree with the guy, but his stats with the exception of people that didn't take vacation in the entire year are not worthwhile. That it the point he is making and should be what is focused on. I know the shit he is talking about. Aside from not being able to take vacations/time off, most Americans don't get ENOUGH time. Most jobs that give holidays only give five days (accrued), and you are meted five sick days a year. That ain't worth shit and the "sick days" is some bullshit. I recall coming into work deathly ill at a job, just so I could save my sick days and add them to my vacation days. Two weeks of vacation time (not counting sick days) a year is doing pretty well in the US. As for being fucked for taking time off, that has actually happened to me. I came back from a four day holiday (not counting the weekend) to my job being handed off to someone more incompetent because said person had never taken a day off and was more "reliable" for that. On the traveling out of the country tip (Canada, Mexico, Hawaii, Alaska and West Indies don't count), most Yanks cannot afford that shit at all.
