Every time you fertilize it takes 1 hour off the grow time.

Let's figure out what the answers could be...

I'll take a couple of guesses...

First possibility - you have three minion seeds and you want to grow them for the friends who helped you. Easy peasy - plant them one at at time - in any soil and they'll grow to be minions in about a week. Harvest - give away - tada.

First and a half possibility - you have three minion seeds that you want to grow for friends - and you want to try to crossbreed them hoping for seeds for more minions. You'd need to plant the seeds in thanalan grade 3 soil (90% chance of crossbreeding) - and plant them in an order that the crossbreed based on experiments other folks have done. From the lodestone forum - the crossbreedings for minions that have been found so far are (note - these may or may not be completely correct):

    Onion Prince:
    - Krakka + Azeyma Rose
    - Krakka + Mandrake. - alt. Mimett Gourd

    King Tomato:
    - Krakka + Broom-bush
    - Krakka + Jute
    - Mimett Gourd + Almond

    Eggplant Knight:
    - Krakka + Star Anise
    - onion prince. + Krakka
    - Wild Onion + Onion Prince

    Garlic Jester:
    - Mandrake - Garlic Clove
    - random result - Flax(harvested) + chamomile.
    - Dzealma Tomato + Mandrake

    Mandy Queen:
    - Nymeia Lily + Mandrakes

These are what I've seen on that forum - they have not all been confirmed as happened more than once and for different people... But they are what had been posted so far (I've been trying to follow the discussion thread and keep updating the list of cross breeding results).

If you happen to have a minion seed that can be crossbreed according to these possibilities - then give it a shot and hope for the best. How do it work? I think that you would plant Wild Onion and then Onion Prince right next to the wild onion (used grade 3 thanalan soil for the onion prince) and grow grow grow and hope that the harvest of the onion prince results in and eggplant knight. I may have the planting order backwards - so search around to find the combination and get the order correct.

Second possibility - you have a minion seed and want to grow more of them - similar to the above - but hope to plant one seed and crossbreed it with another to get another minion - and eventually grow the minions... Sort of both of the above - but longer. Many minions can be grown from seeds you can gather - so so that if you have the chance.

When growing minions - I suspect that the soil types that won't do much are the HQ flavor (as I don't know of any HQ minion) and the higher yield soil probably won't do much either as you will likely only ever get one minion from a seed. This translates into try the thanalan grade 3 soil for cross breeding and setup the seeds in the 'right' order and hope for a cross breeding to get another seed for later.

    Good luck!

Can anyone confirm the yield of a Thavnarian Onion seed? All the other choco food plants yield 9 with no special soils, can anyone confirm that to be the case for the onion? Please and Thank You.

Fertilizing increases growth time . Prolly takes a few hours off per fertilization. It may also affect cross breed chance , but that's just theory crafting.

Anybody try shroud soil w/thav onions? Get increase yields?

Probably didn't read the whole last page, as it looks like a direct response to the fertilizer question posted back on p.17 (20 ppp)

Is there any way to keep track of who planted what in the garden.

I would expect it to say Plant->Player's name or something when clicking on a garden patch, idk how you're supposed to keep track.

You can check on the activity tab in the fc menu which is a bit of a nightmare, there's no other way to tell that I know of.

    Alright...

    So I planted...
    (Sylkis) (Kuruku) (Sylkis)
    (Kuruku)(.........)(Kuruku)
    (Sylkis) (Kuruku) (Sylkis)

because spreadsheet says Kurukus give thav Onions? during the growth time of the Kurukus I went through 2 rounds of sylkis getting 2 thav onion seeds and 5 apricot seeds. During the first harvest of Kurukus I got 2 Thav onions and nothing else. Just harvested the second round Kurukus about an hour ago and all I got 4bags of Apricot seeds.
I did however, plant apricot seeds after the 2nd round of sylkis in hopes to get glazenuts from the apricots seeing that the kurukus were already in place.

    Edit: Slight correction on harvests

What teh hell went wrong T_T?

Which soil did you use? And how did you plant them?

Basically you need to plant them clockwise or anticlockwise (counterclockwise for Americans). If you plant in groups of 4, say the sylkis and then the kukuru it won't work. The crossing apparently takes place at planting. So you need to start one sylkis, then one kukuru, then one sylkis etc. You must use Grade 3 Than soil too for the best chance.

Used Grade 3 than. Planted 1-8 clockwise for first batch. Since sylkis grew much faster then kurukus I just harvested them and planted 1->3->5->7 with more than3. after I plated 2nd batch of Sylkis the 1st batch of kurukus were warpping up, harvested, planted new kurukus 2,4,6,8 in that order with existing sylkis in ground already.

Is getting Thav onions just completely random?

Has anyone been successful in finding a Thavnairian Onion infinite loop? Or is there something that makes this not possible given their nature?

Dunno then. I never replant until I've harvested all though, so not sure if it makes a difference.

It may exist, problem is that the thav onion crossbreed is not 100%, Im guessing its ~30%
