Jute and Anise namely. I wish I hadn't taken it upon myself to plant our Glazenuts with other random shit, but oh well.

I'm not sure if anyone posted proof of getting multiple seeds through Shroud Top Soil or not but I got 5 Apricot seeds from our harvest today. I can upload a screenshot of it later today when I get the chance if people would like to see it.

Not sure if anyone knew this, but you can actually fully kill plants if you forget about them. You get nothing back when they die. Forgot about our alt house. Whoops.

Is gardening actually worth it? I will admit I haven't read through the past 9 pages. I haven't tried it at all but it seems a lot of effort to get gil which...isn't very useful right now.

According to the preliminary patch notes, it seems like there's a bunch of new chocobo-raising stuff in 2.3 we'll probably have to figure out crossbreeds for. I also could've sworn there was a note about some existing crossbreeds being changed, which is gonna suck...

As far as gardening being worth it... well, Grade 3 Thanalan Topsoil usually goes for around 10K per bag on my server. If you have a well-geared miner, you can gather one per day, but it takes forever unless you have some other people helping you. A stack of fertilizer is about 2K from NPC vendor, which isn't bad, but I tend to go through them pretty quick. Last I checked though, Glazenuts were going for around 230K or so on my server, though they used to be a lot higher, around the 900K-1 mil range. I haven't checked the prices of other rare items like Jute or Broombushes lately. Most of the stuff I've been growing lately was to help make minions or house decorations for FC people.

I confirmed that the Almonds + Star Anise still gives Jute seeds since I just harvested Almonds.

The crossbreeding changes might be applied to the Jute/Broombush/Glazenut self-crossbreds?

edit - Forgot, I meant Mandrakes + Jute, was thinking of the wrong set instead of Glazenut + Apricot combo, for some reason I thought that was what I planted.

I harvested jute seeds from jute and mandrake yesterday. If they changed that stuff then maybe it's only for seeds planted after patch? I have glazenuts & apricot planted at the moment. I hope it's not nerfed, that will suck

I'm thinking it's probably other seeds crossbreeding that they're changing but we'll see. Have a bunch of stuff growing also.

Krakka Root plants all yielded 9 each this morning with no dirt that effects yields.

Want to figure out the other types of seeds/food for Chocobo's. But if it was new tier 1 seeds we woulda seen something by now, so it has to be a crossbreed

the Thav onions are a guarantee crossbreed

I have an idea of what some cross-breeds might be based on the item type and assuming they use Krakaa root as the first batch of cross-breeding based on the look and description found at xivdb (probably lodestone as well now that I think about it)

Phasana fruit - Krakaa root? + dzmael tomato?

Mimett Gourd - Krakaa root? + ?

Tantalplant - Krakaa root? + wizard eggplant

Sylkis Bud - Krakaa root? + Midland Cabbage? (dunno about this one)

Curiel Root - Krakaa root? + Coerthas Carrot Seeds

This is the method I'm using to find the potential cross-breeds, though there will be 3 types, we can probably figure out the cross-breed either through logic or simply just trying it out.

Krakaa root - Wizard Eggplant - Krakaa root

Coerthas Carrot - X - Wild Onion

Krakaa root - Midland Cabbage - Krakaa root

I honestly think Dzemael Tomato won't work but doesn't hurt to just try it out just in case it happens to work out. Once I harvest, I'll let you guys know of the results.

I just harvested the Krakka Root from my bed, which looked like:

Krakka Root - Prickly Pineapple - Krakka Root
Star Anise - Scarecrow - Honey Lemon
Krakka Root - Dzmael Tomato - Krakka Root

Planted them top left going clockwise, None of the seeds produced gave me anything special, just a mix of lowest tier seeds like Midland Cabbage and Rolanberry seeds. Did manage 18 Krakka Root out of the first slot with Shroud 3 soil. 4 plants still to harvest on the bed.

kk, thanks, gonna change to wild onion since it is either wild onion or popoto since they're reported to cross-bred into curiel root.

edit - removing dzemael tomato in place of wild onion since they didn't give anything good.

edit 2 - can confirm that using shroud soil 3 gives 18 root per harvest, I planted it along the glazenuts (don't know what I was thinking at the time) and will say what I get from crossbreed.

I don't think any of the seeds you planted there share breed with Krakka. Krakka is a blue lined bag, none of the rest of those are.

I don't think any of the seeds you planted there share breed with Krakka. Krakka is a blue lined bag, none of the rest of those are.

Krakka almost looks like a new type of bag (blue line with light blue bottom)
